Should I rehair this super long hair pony?
« on: March 03, 2012, 12:49:36 PM »
I received several pretty super long hair ponies. All of them have really frizzy hair. Yesterday I washed Rainbow Flash's mane and tail. I placed a tiny bit of conditioner in her hair and washed it out. Afterwards I stuck her mane and tail in boiling water several times. Her hair looks MUCH better now, but it's still a mess at the ends. I'm thinking about rehairing her. Can I fix her original hair?

Don't people use straighteners for that?

Does your hair straightener/flat iron have options for low and high heat?
If so, setting it to a low and then using it, shouldn't cause the hair to melt.
Set it to low heat, keep the hair wet while you work, and don't keep the flat iron still in one place for long, and you should be quite alright.
It's scary at first but it can work absolute miracles.

If you're worried you could always try it on a pony you're more willing to test on.
Or if you're willing to test on this girl, test it on the end of a lock from the middle of her tail or something, that you can snip off and hide should it go wrong.

A few days ago i did it for the first time and was also scared to melt her hair. But i was brave and tried it. I made the hair really wet (right after putting the hair underneath the water) and used the straightner. And it worked!!!!! She is lovely now.

ive heard keeping conditioner in while you straight helps. also leaving conditioner in and packing her in a ziploc with most of the air out and leave her like that 24hrs should help as well
