Shouldn't be any problems, just insist on tracking/insurance and find out from the store how they would want to proceed in case of a claim.

Things I never would have thought of.  Thank you for the suggestion!

Price Check Archives / PC on some MIB/MOC
« on: March 24, 2016, 02:01:25 PM »
I dug through all of my store paperwork and seem to not have found prices for these ladies.  Can anyone give me some direction?

A lot of these have stickers or marks from pulled off stickers, and minor wear on the packaging unless noted otherwise.  Regardless of packaging condition, all of the ponies look great.

MOC
-Sunbeam - pulling away from the card on one side, very yellowed plastic, lots of stickers
-Happyglow (Glow n Show)
-Starglow (Glow n Show)
-Baby Northstar (Baby Sparkle Pony)

MIB
-Lavender Lace (Perfume Puff)
-Caramel Crunch (Candy Cane) - looks like the box has been crushed, but the pony is completely fine.  Possible light water damage?
-ChaCha (Prom Queen Sweetheart Sister) - front plastic has collapsed in
-Princess Pony (Purple w/eyelashes)
-Bridal Beauty - box in rough shape, rather bent up.  possible water damage

Others
-Goldilocks (still in bag)

I can provide pictures if anything is unclear, and thank you for any help in advance.

We have had issues come up with members selling on behalf of someone else. We prefer for members to have the item personally in hand themselves. So if the items are pulled off the store shelf (meaning they can't be purchased by a store customer) that should be fine. We wouldn't want someone here to buy it only to find out it's essentially been sold out from under them in the store.

That's exactly the thing I was most concerned about, and why I would be very careful to see it doesn't happen.

I want to preface with, this isn't for certain, but it's come up before and I'm just looking for advice

Secondly, I'm really sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place, but this seemed most appropriate.
I work for a comic book store.  We have some ponies (especially MIB/MOC ones) that have been sitting around.  Would it be an issue  for me to use my account at the Arena and, more or less, act as an agent for the store?  I'd pop up a sales thread with some things and pull those items off of the shelf, possibly rotating stock occasionally?

I know we have some collectors locally, but I'd kinda like to get this stuff out and into more happy collector hands.

Thank you for any advice and opinions.

Pony Corral / Uneven Tails?
« on: October 16, 2015, 02:46:40 PM »
Still mostly a novice but I'm cleaning up some G1's from a lot, and I'm noticing some of their tails are uneven.  I don't think they're cut, it'll just have one small chunk that's abnormally long in relation to the rest.

Is it just the metal piece in the tail giving out from over brushing, or age?  Should I be worried about tail rust in these?  Or is something else weird going on that I should know about.

I'm sorta on hiatus.  I still like to get new Pinkie Pie's for my army when I see them, but that's about it.

Like others have said, I kinda float through collections/hobbies and come back around.  Ever since I've gotten into more armor-building oriented cosplay, most of my hobby money is going toward materials (like worbla) and I'm back on a Japanese Street Fashion thing.

I am thinking about spoiling myself with a handful of ponies after my birthday, though.

Pony Corral / Question About Baby Misty
« on: September 27, 2015, 01:48:31 PM »
I have a Baby Seapony Misty, and he hair is completely trashed.  It looks like dreadlocks, and the more I work at it/look at it, I don't think there will be any way to comb out her dreads.  The hair is almost bonded together??

I just want to be sure she's not terribly rare, because I wanted to give her some new hair and use her for a cute project.

I won't be doing any changes or harm to her body.  At least that part of her is in pretty good shape.

(also, haven't decided on a hair color yet, if anyone wanted to add some input on that..... )

Just an update!

My boss is out of town for the week, so I won't know for certain if we're going to purchase them until after then.  If we do buy them and make a decision about selling online (which I'm going to encourage) I will leave an ad here somewhere for everyone!

Pony Corral / Re: How to take nice photos of ponies for sale?
« on: March 13, 2015, 03:44:29 PM »
I don't sell things, but I used to take a lot of pictures of inanimate objects.

I find background to be important, as others have suggested.  Something that makes the subject pop or even compliments the color nicely.  I personally don't think there's any problem with a pattern as long as it's not too busy and is a a bit on the subtle side.

For lighting I prefer natural light or some kind of LED bulb.  I have a small LED craft light for if I'm taking pictures indoors if it's too cold/I can't get outside, but when I can I love to use natural light.  You just need to be aware of casting shadows, and that sort of thing.

This was outdoor with natural lighting (actually in shade) using long grass as a background:

And this is how I tend to do an indoor set-up (pardon the photo quality as it's my older camera):

Merry Treats, Wild Flower, the baby/pal, Mermaids, and Candy Cane would be the ones I would expect to have the most interest.

I think $75 plus for Merry Treats
$75 for the baby/pal (if tear isn't too bad)
$60 for the Mermaids

The dream beauty might also get more as well as the Twinkle petites.  Lil Litters are popular at the moment but the recent prices I've seen them at seem WAY high but that's just stingy me talking.

Don't know what kinds of margins your boss needs but if I were buying for resale purposes, I would pay about $25-30 for most of the MOC ponies and maybe a bit more for MIB.

Thank you!  This is a great starting point!

Though, I will still happily take any other input

AH! Buy it so I can buy the Pink Sweet Talkin Pony. *_*
I'm honestly hoping that we do, and I'm hoping I can talk him into listing online with these....
