Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Shopkins Lil' Secrets
« on: May 25, 2018, 12:52:14 AM »
Not into Shopkins and their other sub-lines have yet to grab me but...

I absolutely cannot wait for these!

I've admired Bluebird's Polly Pockets for a while but I only own 1 compact/playset and not only are they always sought after they seem to be going for a lot on the 2nd hand market, and I have a hard time liking the upcoming Polly Pockets by Mattel because of (imo) their lack of design and their unappealing color choices.

My only gripe is that the smaller, mini compacts are going to be blind boxed... because of course they are   :pout:

Pony Corral / What is Hasbro doing?
« on: February 09, 2016, 05:00:49 AM »
While I am admittedly not a fan of G4 and FiM anymore(despite it being the gen that got me into mlp) and I am definitely not a fan of the direction its toyline went, but it's impossible to overlook its success.

I know for certain both old AND new fans of the Transformers, Star Wars, and Marvel franchises get catered to by Hasbro. All 3 franchises release old characters alongside new ones, with lines aimed at older kids/collectors alongside more little kid-friendly toys. And I also know for certain that Hasbro(and Takara) has been taking risks with TF lately (by releasing new toys of underused characters, releasing more female characters, etc.). Attention is obviously given to all 3 franchises' histories.

With the new movie Star Wars has most likely made more than both TF and MLP by now.
BUT STILL, this makes wonder, WHY My Little Pony still does not get the same attention, risks, and diversity Hasbro gives to Transformers, Star Wars, and Marvel? Especially now with how much MLP has earned which is mostly just toys from the fim tv show alone. Imagine if they also made something that also recalls older gens/characters like TF has or toys of many new characters that will appeal to collectors AND kids.
I know that Marvel and Star Wars are external properties that get their extra push from their parent company, but MLP has been around for almost as long as TF has and has now earned more than the latter so why is only the latter getting proper attention by Hasbro?
Hasbro's current handling of TF is not perfect by any means but it's LEAGUES better than what they're doing with MLP and especially poor JEM.

How long do you think until MLP gets to finally evolve and be creative/interesting again?
(I don't think EqG counts since it's just a spin-off of FiM it even has the exact same characters)

The Dollhouse / Hasbro Jem questions
« on: January 08, 2016, 02:22:36 PM »
I've never had any Jem dolls before but would like to own one, but the only one I found selling here in my country only has a nude Hasbro Aja for 2-3USD. I would not mind having her but first, I would like to know,
Is that a good price for her?
Can the original body wear barbie clothes? What shoes can they wear?
Can their heads be rebodied to any of the modern articulated barbies or even Liv? (Will certainly make finding clothes easier. I've actually seen them rebodied on Moxie Teenz bodies but those are harder and more expensive to find)

thanks!

Is a Merry Go Round Sparkler in this condition worth the $4.00 I will be paying?

I don't know if they will be sold outside of Europe though.

Pony Corral / Starshine?
« on: October 16, 2012, 12:27:56 PM »
Can anyone show some comparison pics or tell me about the many differences between the original Starshine and the repro version?
(Actually, has anyone done pictures comparing all of the original ponies that were reissued, with their repros?)
thanks

The Dollhouse / Help with Spectra's skirt
« on: October 12, 2012, 01:15:30 AM »
The black netting on signature Spectra's skirt keeps catching dust :(. My dolls were already displayed on the least dust-prone area in the house and I clean it regularly, so I'm asking if anyone knows a way to get the dust particles off the netting w/o ruining it?

Pony Corral / On pony lots (I added a photo)
« on: October 05, 2012, 08:50:43 AM »
I just want to know what everyone does when they find a pony or two they like (regardless of its condition) sold in a set with other ponies/items you don't want? How do you know if it's worth it?

(The pony I have in question is a 'baity' Baby Brightbow that looked like it just needed some cleaning; it doesn't seem to have a major haircut if it even had at all; no large marks; it had faded-looking hair;- in a lot w/ 3 other ponies that was php220 aka $5 overall with shipping already included)

note: All my g1 ponies were bought online, I have yet to find a real life thrift store that sold toys especially older ones.
