I was born in the mid 90's. Some of the plush toys I remember distinctly having as a toddler/little kid were these weird stuffed vegetables. The ones I remember the best are a mushroom and a potato (I think there may have a been a husband and wife potato, but I'm not sure), but I'm pretty sure I had a bunch of different vegetables.
Every time I try to ask people if they remember these, they tell me I'm just mis-remembering Veggie Tales, but I KNOW that these were not related to veggie tales (even my parents tell me this)! There was a show, but it was just regular animation. It was very very weird, also.
Does any one else remember or have any of these toys???

I had a carrot that I got at a thrift store in 95? I think?
 Nostalgia :P
Sorry I couldn't help, good luck finding what they are :)
-
Oh! I had a carrot too! I remember that one. :P
Thank you! I hope someone can help me prove that I'm not crazy.

I can think of a few lines they could possibly be from.

Any of these look familiar?

None of those look very familiar, although they were kind of fuzzy-ish like the Yumkins.

Any chance the mushroom and potato are these guys?

We had a collection of these "Vegetable Friends" at my house. The mushroom's name was "Moy" and the potato was "Spuds". I know for sure that we bought these at a grocery store.

Hmm. I don't remember any plush vegetables ... that's odd. That seems like something that'd be right up my alley!
-
Those sound different.... Good luck figuring out what they were!

There was another line like the yumkins (which I still have most of). Freshlike Friends by the Larson Co in Green Bay, WI. They are very rare. There are two ads on ebay for them but no potatos.

Veggie tales? Thats all that pops up for me and would fit that timeframe.
Im not really sure though, since I was an 80's girl

I saw a huge collection in somebody's window when I was on the bus today! All the colours of the rainbow.. it was fantastic. :silly:

Might not be it, but I do know that Disney's Epcot sold plush vegetables around that time. They were part of the Kitchen Kabaret show. (video for nostalgia's sake: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nENqgFyY86Q&feature=relmfu (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nENqgFyY86Q&feature=relmfu))
