Title: Probably a silly question, but... MH related
Post by: TexasGal on May 05, 2012, 09:36:40 PM
I got a DotD Cleo in a trade, and I love her, but I was wondering, is it ok to wash her hair out with shampoo to keep it from being so darn stiff?  Do I need to use conditioner?  Any tips and whatnot?  xD  I'm new to collecting MH dolls, so I wasn't sure where to start.

I just rinsed mine out with water and it looks great now!

Everytime I've used conditioner, it's left behind a bit of it, unlike with pony hair. Maybe it's just the doll I used it on?
You can just use something like dish/hand soap to wash it out and she should be fine. Their hair is soooo much softer after a good wash. :dribble:

I combed out my Toralei and SS Frankie's hair.  I hate the plastered gel feel, I'd rather have them with soft brushable hair instead, even if it's not as clean style-wise.  I also laughed at the fact that you got a brush with Toralei but couldn't really use it on her hair...lol.  I plan on washing Frankie's hair, but I'm reluctant to wash Toralei's since even the combing lightened her stripes a little.

Hand soap works best because conditioner does leave a small residue with MH doll hair.

I don't collect these, but I know I would wash that out if I did with water first and if it didn't come out, I would use soap. Why in the world would they think kids were going to like stiff hair on their dolls?
