Thanks so much for the encouragement, that nearly brought tears to my eyes.  I think partly it's just tough for me because we have three kiddos and my workspace is limited to the living room sofa + coffee table or the dining room, which is small and used frequently.  I don't have a space of my own where I can just leave things out without worrying that my little artsy fartsy boys will think "ha ha, these belong to ME" or that my baby girl will find something small and dangerous (i.e. a block of polymer clay) and stick it in her mouth. <<sighs>> One day....

Hmm... your last line there reminds me of the Neverending Story.
