Title: The Importance Of Being Chatty- and a contest!
Post by: Aurora on April 26, 2017, 12:04:09 PM: I have a co-worker that I don't see very often- our schedules don't really line up very well. But I got to see her and work next to her all day yesterday. We were chatting about our lives, and I said the most exciting thing in my future is the Pony Meet that I will be hosting at the end of May. She giggled a little, then said that she used to run a day care in her basement, and that she has saved all the toys, including a tote of ponies! I told her I would pay her fair market value for them, but she said she just wanted the space back in her basement, and she will bring them to work next Tuesday, the next time she comes in.

Obviously, I said thank you, offered to pay for them again, offered to trade her for something, and am now planning on making her a batch of cookies. Maybe a cake.

She didn't say a number, but she did specifically say "tote," so I know what I'm picturing. Then she said some are pink, and some are rainbow. (She just described every pony ever!)

Now I know this will probably be a box of Cotton Candy's and fakies, but until then, I'm in a really happy place- I love the anticipation of a gift almost more than the gift itself- and I'm going to share some love!

What single pony do you wish, hope, dream is in this tote? Tell me your wish! The first one on the list that is actually in the box gets that pony!

DISCLAIMER: I'm not sending you a Rapunzel or Mimic, or any of those crazy-rare ponies. Sorry- I'm feeling generous, not crazy. Also, if the pony is on my wishlist, I'm going to keep her/him. So you may want to keep your guesses to the slightly more common ponies. And remember, they are from a daycare. We all know what that means- at best, messy hair, they may have some writing on them or lots of surface dirt. I'll leave the cleanup to the winner!

Limit one guess per person!

I'm really excited! (And if she forgets to bring them, we get another week of anticipation! AWESOME!)

I'm thinking she might have had this daycare more recently than G1 days, so I'm gonna take a wild guess and go for a G3 - Princess Peppermint! She's been on my mind lately, so maybe she's popping into my thoughts for a reason! (I WISH there were G1s in the tote, but I'm leaning more towards G3!)

Tomorrow! My co-worker (not the one with the ponies) called and asked if I wanted Tuesday off, and I said "Oatmeal? Are you crazy??? It's pony day!" They laughed, gasped because they had forgotten that it's a national holiday, and wished me good luck. Hopefully I'll have pictures to post here (or the brag forums, or both!) on Wednesday!

Keep the dreams coming! She said they were old, now it's just time to wait and see how old she thinks that is!

She laughed and said that her daughter moved all the toys, and that daughter will be out of town until Mother's Day, in about a week and a half. So it looks like the contest gets to keep going!

For those of you who haven't guessed yet, the pony she brought was a very well-loved Princess Royal Blue. I'll post pictures of her when I get a chance.

And YAY! The anticipation continues!

Lu called yesterday to say that she is taking the week off (she only works one day a week, it's that sort of job) but next week she should be back. I promise I'm not going to forget, no matter how long we all have to patiently wait!

When I had my first conversation with her, she mentioned that she had given a couple of ponies to the local daycare. I finally got up my courage to go over and ask about them- I had already decided that unless it was a $200 pony or more, I wasn't quite ready to steal toys from children, even if I offered them a very generous trade. They had Pinwheel and Bonnie Bonnets, both very well loved and tail-less. Maybe that gives a hint to someone? I think everyone's guesses are good ones- I'm rooting for you all!

I, too, hope you get some seriously cool ponies in the lot. One of the ponies I've always wanted but won't be in your tote is 10th Anniversary Birthday pony. You know, just in case. ;) I can't wait to hear what you do get and in what condition. Those little kiddos can be really rough on a pony, just ask my childhood Firefly. :)

Thats what I get for trying to think and post while sick. :P Instead I'll guess Tic-Tac-Toe since I have a baby who is without her Mommy.

I have a Jangles here who would love to have her sister back! (Tangles has white hair, if you forget like I do! At least, according to my collector's book she does!)

Lu has disappeared, though. Her mother wasn't doing well for a little while, and I'm only at that job a couple days a week... I know when she finds them, she'll bring them in. The question is whether I will still work there when she does! It's a strange job, and my boss is the jerkiest of the bosses I've ever dealt with. Pure stubbornness is keeping me from quitting, plus the money.

So here's what I'll do- I'll go through this list of ponies and see if I have any in my trade box instead of the ones she brings. I'll still let you know when the box of ponies appears, but I would like to get a prize in the mail! So bear with me a little longer, and I'll have the winner soon! (Winner is Coming! Hahahaha!)
