Title: Tell me about your dreamponies!
Post by: Broken Irishwoman on May 11, 2020, 12:21:37 PM: So we all have them. Those awful, awful pony dreams where you see heaps and heaps of ponies, but before you're done grabbing them all, you wake up. XD

But sometimes completely unknown ponies pop up too! What ponies from a different universe have you seen in your dreams? Tell me about them! And have there been ponies that were worth drawing after you woke up? Show me! :D

Last week I had one of those dreaded dreams. We were looking for a new house (I was so glad when I woke up, because I love our own flat too much :P ), and inside the house we got to view there was a whole army of ponies, standing on a nightstand. And since nobody else was interested in them, they were mine to take home! :shocked: Among them, there was a baby pony in Baby Surprise's pose. Her body colour was that typical, grainy glow-in-the-dark plastic like those baby fakies, and she had (very dry) curly blonde hair. Her symbol was like G3 Sunset Sweety's. She was adorable! I really really wish she was real. :(

So I had to draw her! Well, sort of. I had the template (my own work) available in my computer, which is why she has straight hair instead of curly, too. And her symbol is a very poor MS Paint job (and her "grainy-ness" is a very poor MS Paint spraypaint tool). But hey, at least I can show you what she looked like! :P

I have actually never dreamed of a never before seen pony. But I have lots of dreams with Glory in them. Brand new Glory with her pink ribbon and brush. Glory with a magical glow around her. Glory deep in the woods. I just love her.

I've dreamed about generic ponies and canon ponies before, but only one time I could remember an actual new pony - she was in G1 Fizzy's pose but she was all white, with TAF hearts in pink and red and purple all over her. I think her hair was dark pink or red. I've actually considered making a custom of her but I'm afraid she would be too "boring." I did make a drawing of her at the time but I'm not sure where it is now!

She had gold leaves instead of purple and I was so excited because she was one of my favorites. In another dream I found a pegasus/unicorn hybrid but I can't recall what it looked like, only being shocked that one existed... Then I woke up. I've dreamt up other strange ponies too, though I always forget them. You've inspired me to draw them next time I have a pony dream. :)

Post by: Mewtwofan1 on May 11, 2020, 04:14:36 PM: I dreamt up a few non-existent ponies. Like a g3 rainbow dash, except it looked like she did in runaway rainbow. When all the rainbow colours were gone? And a g1 applejack, but with rainbow hair for some reason. A rainbow mohawk kind of thing.
Then there was that nightmare where I found a booth of ponies, but as I got closer they were all fakies!

Thanks! Maybe I'll finally be inspired to make her.

We'll all have to try to have more pony dreams, eh? :lol:

Post by: freezestime on May 14, 2020, 08:04:58 PM: Oh man, I do have a lot of pony dreams but I've never identified any of them, they're mostly a blur of prototypes; except for one. It was a G1 in a sweetheart sister design with G3 Sweet Summertime's design. I have no desire for a custom of one.

I love this thread, that baby pony is really cute. If anyone likes to get their dream pony to be done you're more than welcome to send a PM. As happy as I am with doing Hasbro commissions I always love the new and unknown, so that'd be awesome to look beyond my regular comfort zone.

Post by: pinkkittywinks on May 15, 2020, 08:17:43 AM: I have had plenty of pony dreams, almost all of them I see a pony in a charity shop window and either the shop is closed or I have no money! The pony is usually some sort of nirvana or a nirvana pony my mind has made up :P

I have made customs of a few of peoples dream ponies.

I wish I had made note of my dream nirvana ponies, some of them were so funky.

The latest one took place in a small European village that was amidst a war (I suspect WWII), and the opposition was actively dropping explosives on the area but I was stuck trying to decide btw purchasing a complete Magic Star Swirl or Diamond Glow’s wings :blush:

Another dream I had when I was younger took place during G3, where I was the surrogate “Megan” of their world and got to meet Baby pink sunsparkle at celebration castle :)

And even older than that, back when I was in middle school I had a dream of finding a portal to Ponyland (a mix of G1 and G3). But it also led to other pocket dimensions (I believe one was ruled by blue whales).

She sounds lovely! Definitely something I'd want to recreate with a custom.

My budget seems to be tight, so I can only buy one or two ponies and I stand there for ages, trying to decide which pony/ponies I should buy. Before I can make a decision, I either wake up or have another dream. :lol:

I'm with you Taffeta...I have these dreams all the time where I find OOAK ponies but when I wake up I can't remember them. I think I posted once about it before where I may have remembered..

one day i might make it if i had the right materials :D

So I was at my parents’ home and they were doing some interior decorating and needed a large stone/granite bench moved. One of the construction workers ended up breaking it off its legs and in between the chunks stuck to the floor and the section that broke off were a bunch of poster boards covered in glue, glitter, broken crayons, buttons, and ponies! Apparently in the dream I recognized them as childhood ponies I had had (not irl). I remember a few specifically: one was G2 Lady Elegant, one was G1 baby sugarcake, one was one of the G1 sweetheart sisters, and a bunch were rare G1 babies and Rare G2s. All glued to the poster board.
Apparently my mother had used them for some sort of art project.

Fortunately for dream-me, the glue wasn’t strong and I was able to peel the ponies off without damaging them. I was about to give them all a spa day when I woke up >_<

And just last night a few weird ones popped up: a TAF Heartthrob baby and a Munchy pegasus baby. I had found them while thrifting and was so excited... and then I woke up, oof

But in this dream, she was a he, was named King Pony, and looked identical, except he had a Crown Royal cap on his head

It was molded to his head like a Moondreamer or something.

For some reason this King Pony was stolen in one point in the dream, along with a few other regular ponies I can't remember, and it was absolutely crucial I get him back, lol! Other than that nothing else was pony related in that long bizarre dream, but I found it interesting about the ponies.

For whatever reason, I went thrifting at a mechanic's shop, and as I'm turning over bits and pieces of car parts stacked on tables inside of the mechanic shop, these variant Mimics keep popping up! Blue Mimic, Red Mimic! I'm so excited about all of these rare, heretofore unknown variants, I'm falling over myself while I try to clutch all of them in my arms!

And then, of course, I wake up. :P

There were two I remember exclusively because of a joke I made in the dream: the first was a tan pony with light blonde hair in the Classic pose. Her cutie mark was Twice as Fancy style, but it was just images of her own head in a slightly lighter color. The second was pretty much G1 Merriweather, but with yellow horseshoes instead of rainbows as her symbol.

The joke I made in the dream was some variant of an exchange from Spongebob Squarepants. (“This guy’s so rich, he’s got a swimming pool in his swimming pool![he’s got ponies on his ponies!]” “This guy has SHOES!”) One of those jokes that isn’t quite funny when you wake up.

Post by: slyons on July 05, 2020, 08:10:30 AM: Just woke up this morning from a dream that I was hiking and came across this big abandonned mansion in the woods. I went in there to explore and came across a huge display of G1's.

Pretty sure it was some combination of a Paradise Estate/Dream Castle together, (never seeing either in real life, only pictures) it was huge and took up an entire table. I took the top off one of the castle spires and there was a bunch of ponies/accessories in there, including Nectar, a mystery blue pony with white hair (Nightglider?) and a pearlized Glory. But then they started losing colour and were blanched white, and when I looked closer all the ponies on this bastardized playset were doing the same thing and were white as well.

I then for some reason figured out this was a trap set up by fairies and tried to leave but they caught up with me and made me their servant. :huh:

I really gotta stop reading before bed.

Like, obviously painted, their heads need to be attached etc! I only remember one specific pony, and it was an orange and white Lickety Split that I dreamt up years ago. Dreams are a fickle thing, that's for sure.

Otherwise, it's finding rarities/grails like Dream Beauties or Nirvanas in the wild and knowing that eventually I'll wake up and won't get to take them home. ;0;!!!
