Title: Does anyone use the Mercari app for selling?
Post by: cloud_weaver on June 14, 2017, 06:28:18 AM
So I've been using Mercari for a few months and am undecided if I like it.

Quick rundown for those who don't know what it is, it's an app for your phone, tablet, etc familiar to eBay but a little easier to sell.  You can buy from your PayPal funds or bank account, but can't transfer your money mpback to PayPal - which is good and bad since you don't get charged a PayPal fee.  You can deposit the money straight to your bank account.  Mercari does take a 10% fee once your sale finalizes.

Side note, if you want to sign up and check it out, if you use my friend code we each get $2 free credit.  NBPVGX

Anyway, my question is shipping....

They have their own shipping fees preset.  And they are making quite abit of moolah off the shipping fee.  Sometimes it's beneficial, sometimes it's price gouging.  But as you don't have access to the funds you earn until after the sale finalizes, and even then it's not in PayPal, I haven't figured out an easier, cheaper method to ship.  Especially since Mercari will take 10% off the shipping fee if you ship outside of their preset fees.

If you use Mercari - how do you ship stuff?  Is there a cheaper way to do it?
