Arts & Crafts Corral / Re: What are you working on?

Those are beautiful, Artie!

A custom pony contest has started on another site. I want to enter it but I have prior customs to finish. I'm almost done with two out of three. The third I am having difficulties with. He has very complicated and detailed clothing. I've never really sculpted clothing like this. But I'm hoping to finish the two soon so I can start on a pony for the contest.

Will you show off some photos? Good luck in the contest.    :newpony:

Updates including Lily Lightly, Comet Tail, some G4 McDonald's,  and Twinkle Bloom. Ugh I was really hoping it wouldn't hit any of the ponies I own.

Does your pony have a gimmick?

Thanks BC and Beth.    It's only been a little over a month since we lost her.  We had to keep most of the doors closed inside the house so the dog wouldn't open them and get in to stuff.  It still feels weird to leave the doors open, but there's no point in closing them now.  The vet did make an impression of her pawprints in plaster of Paris or something and added her name.  We also have her urn with her name on it.   A couple of weeks before she died I saw a pet memorial stone at Walmart and bought her one just in case we needed it before Walmart stopped selling them since they looked like a seasonal item.

I've always thought of myself as a little clusmy, but today takes the cake. I was putting together Legos and noticed I had put a few pieces in the wrong spot.  I started trying to remove them, but it was a little hard because the pieces I was trying to take off were flat.  I used the Brick Remover that comes in some Lego sets and still was having trouble.   Somehow I managed to cut my finger while use the Brick Remover.  How is that even possible?

Your plants look great, BC. :D

My green strawberry is turning red.   The white pot we repotted the dill in seems to have a problem with drainage.  It was fine the last time one of the mints was in it, but now I think there might be some debris in the drainage hole that is making it not work properly.  I watered the dill today and a lot of the water didn't drain.

My daughter is learning letters today and has started to say the phonic names for letters in the word d u c k, because it's her favourite word. We were using giant foam letters to learn with. When she brought over to me the letter F I kept telling her that we didn't need it to say 'duck' but for some reason she insisted. I keep having the strange impression that she has lived many lives before.

LOL!!

i wish we could have early general elections in the US. i think it's something only in parliamentary governments and from what i understand the UK has much better campaign finance laws so the elections are less miserable and shorter.

unhappy clarification
Spoiler
Taffeta, the "secure a better future for our children" talk was something i also noticed it from Liz Truss. It's very similar phrasing associated with white nationalists and super far right people here in the US. except the white nationalists say "white children". it could be nothing. but i didn't like seeing it again

Also i finally got the doors hung up on the Billy shelves i bought for the living room. they were so much easier to hang than i thought they would be. i'm going to order some for my pony shelves :)

Anything that is less social-media-y gets my vote.

Oh dear. That's hilarious xD Bless.

@Beth - frankly, he can afford his own umbrella :P He's the one who chose to stand outside making a long speech instead of a quick announcement.

A speech which sounded like he'd been spending too long in the fiction section.

But this is the happy thread. So happy thoughts :D

Everything is going mad outside. Unfortunately so are the slugs after all this rain and they are attaching my beans and squashes. We've had so much rain that all the perennial plants in the garden are doing really well, even though the most recent wave were only planted in Feb this year. All I have left after that is landscaping plants for when we finally get the boundary fixed. Native trees and shrubs like holly, ivy, hawthorn, juniper and birch and a couple of non-natives like pittosporum because in a semi-detached house privacy can be an issue and choice of evergreens is limited. I have a lot of good flowers at the moment, first roses and peonies. There's this awkward week in early May when the late tulips still haven't quite finished (letterbox red) and clash with the first early roses (barbie pink), but I've learned to be ruthless with the tulips and take the first roses indoors as cut flowers.

The refrigerator. I don't feel much inspired by music lately. The Lark Ascending by Vaughan Williams.
