I just got my second dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine yesterday (about 20 days after the first one).
It feels like two doses of sweet revenge against the virus. :devious:
I haven't noticed any side effects other than the minimal pain where I hot the shot. I heard that 2-3 of my colleagues got light fever by today but nothing more serious.
The bad news is the government said it seems the third wave of the pandemic just begins. It seems the recent restrictions could delay the British variant's spread by a month.

I'll get my vaccination ID Card soon by post and my mom will get one since she just got through the infection while she was in the hospital.

Well here in Hungary the government just extended its restriction and curfew rules we have since mid-November and this long time and fix set of rules seems working very well and the daily infection and death rates are slowly but continuously dropping.
This is a very good thing the light of the fact we have 12 officially detected case of the Covid-19's UK variant.

Now our government says it's too risky to start easing on the restrictions until we'll have safely enough doses of vaccine for the mass vaccination so it works hard on it even by buying Russian and Chinese vaccines too.

PS.: I got my first Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine shot on last Friday. :frolic:

In mid-October, I learnt that following the health guidances like regular handwashing and disinfecting and wearing a mask can help me greatly remaining uninfected even when the nursing home where I work became a covid-19 hotspot.
This covid-19 virus can be a very sassy virus.

I hope you guys have a happier christmas than me.
My mother got into hospital on 23 december with her heart and she is still in there but now on the covid ward after she has been infected in the hospital. :yikes:
It seems my  mom had an unnoticed assimptomic heartattack during the summer and now two of her heart keys are not closing perfectly.

It seems the daily infection rate is slowing a bit around only 6500 while the daily death rate has been almost 200 this week.

I more step back to the lockdown. The old people's shopping hours coming back tomorrow. Retired people can still shop all day but on weekdays from 9-11 and weekend 8-10 only they can shop.

Ps: since last Friday the government launched weekly quick testing for the social homes, teachers and healthcare workers.

How are you guys with mask-wearing?
I'm pretty OK with it well actually I even enjoy it a bit. In weekdays I wear masks about 12 hours with small breaks including workplace and public transport to the workplace and home.
I prefer to wear colourful 3 layers of the textile masks and I try to change it regularly so I use about 4-6 masks a day and wash hand and disinfect regularly and it pays off for me so far.

I have a contact tracer app on my phone but not much people use it so it isn't effective. :(

These are the actual coronavirus data from Hungary:
CORONAVIRUS: 174,618 infected. In compulsory home quarantine: 42,370. Recovered: 42,915 Deceased: 3,800.

The daily infection rate is around 3,000
The daily death rate is around 100-120

The mayors have no infection and quarantine data since the first wave ended in May. They only got infection and quarantine info during the first wave.
We only know from the local press's website and Facebook page that a teacher has died in covid-19 last week, but no official local death info.

We have night curfew from 8 pm-5 am since the 11 November. We'll see on Wednesday if there will be a full lockdown here like the one  Austria rolled out last Tuesday. :whoa:

I have two negative PCR test results and no positive PCR test results

I work as a social worker in a nursery where mentally and psychically handicapped/disabled people lives. (sorry I don't know how to describe it better in English  )
The home became a serious coronavirus hotspot in early October. :yikes: luckily no one got into hospital or passed away :frolic: while most of our residents have chronic diseases.

Off Topic / Summer in the shadow of the coronavirus
« on: June 17, 2020, 12:04:54 PM »
In the daily news, we can see sneak peeks how the beaches and hotels try tho do their best to win the tourists and save their tourism but what's the trend in the summer camp's front around the world, especially for the ones for kids? I guess Hungary isn't the only country where many parents (who still haven't lost their job yet) have already spent their leave away days (or how do you say it) during the lockdown so they'll have to work all summer.

Well as I hear both daycare camps and sleepaway camps are allowed but there will be much fewer camps than last year.
Many governments going to make daycare camps for poor people's children but even in other camps, the daycare camps will be the most common ones. I also heard that many nomad camps will be lunch.

What's your own vacation plan?

The number of confirmed people infected with the coronavirus in Hungary now stands at 3,473. In compulsory home quarantine: 10,742. Recovered: 1,371. Deceased: 448.

Today was the last day of the population's representative testing with about 16.000 invited people from the 10.000.000.
Our government says that the half time results show a very low infection level as only 2 people were tested to be actively infected from the about 8.000 who had already tested.

For some positivity, what kind of charity, helping and preventing movements are in your country?

There is a wide Stay home campaign with stars and famous people for the elders and those who are not necessary to go out but not official lockdown everywhere.

Lot of sits open freely or giving a discount for their film, news and book archives.

Online concert streaming in social media for people called stay home festival.

In the news, I heard that hotel owners are offering their empty hotel for quarantines to those who are coming home from abroad.

Some taxi companies lift doctors and nurses for free or at a lower cost between their home and their workplace.
Some people offer their empty homes for healthcare workers to stay so they don't need to go home and risking their family members'health.
