Wanting to do more!!

I finished my sister's birthday present...turning a McPony into her labrador retriever, Yzerman.  I've never done a custom before, and after I was done I posted him on the Customs site and people really seemed to like him, so now I'm thinking of doing them for other people! I'm not sure if I should have put this under brag, or trade/sale, so I apologize if I'm wrong.
What I'd like to do is more customs of people's pets (preferrably dogs, but I'm open to take a whack at some kitty friends, too!)
So this really isn't mainly for trades or money or whatever (though I would need to charge/trade something for the work and shipping), but I need to practice and need the models!

I think you should start with swaps to build up you experience and reputation before you start outright selling customs just because it can be difficult to sell if you don't have much feedback.

But you are also welcome to post on the commission artist thread at the top of the customs forum.  This is a place to let people know you are open for commission, show off your skills, and set prices so people can contact you if interested in hiring you.

There were so many places I could have posted..I just figured I'd sort of put it here and if it needed to be elsewhere then it'd be moved. Then I'd judt post there instead.
Like I said, I don't really want to charge money but rather trade..I'd just need help with shipping is all. Plus I don't want to do "a shi-tzu" I want to actually re-create peoples pets for them, including things like favourite toys to make it really personal. I'm not really into rehairing or anything like that, either. I basically just want to build up my portfolio is all. Acvtually, create is probably a better word since Yzerman is the only one I've ever done! Lol

I think what's throwing me is the word trade.  Typically in a trade folks exchange things and each person pays for their own shipping.  But you are talking more about free-ish commissions for shipping cost?  In any case, customs forum is going to be your best bet. I look forwards to seeing your work in the future.

I just happen to be a huge fan of weird mutts! My dog Schmutz is a whatchamahound, schnauzery thing, and my Mumford was a boxer/pointer/ridgeback! Loves me them mutts.

I think it may be a little confusiing, but usually trades are for things that already exist, like pony for pony. This takes time, effort, supplies...stuff like that. Really all I'd ask for is a pony and shipping (the last time I shipped to the States was under 10 bucks) so really, I don't think it's much to ask. Maybe a good reference should I decide to do this long term! Lol!
