I have some others, but I'm not actively them now....unless you count action figs as dolls!

That's actually an interesting conversation to have. My honest opinion is that action figures are dolls, simply renamed so that it's more acceptable in society's eyes for boys to play with them. :P This is my opinion purely because I haven't heard anyone be able to articulate the exact definition of "action figures" versus "dolls" that there aren't counterexamples for.
Hm.. the way I always saw it is, if they have removable clothes then they're a doll, if their clothes are molded on then they're an action figure. If that makes sense.

That's an interesting one that I haven't heard before! Unfortunately it's easily disproven; plenty of smaller/budget dolls will have molded-on clothing simply because it's cheaper and/or easier for little hands to deal with. The EAH budget dolls have molded bodices if I'm not mistaken, and here are some vintage toys that have entirely molded clothes but are decidedly more on the "doll" side of things:

Woodwind and brass instruments!
It didn't start as a collection for me. In fact it wasn't until just about exactly two years ago that I went into a 'collecting' mindset. For by then I was convinced I would never return to school (for music or otherwise) and started going wild just buying whatever I wanted.Spoiler
I probably would have more. I would certainly have an English horn, and I would probably have some form of Early music woodwind by now, but I went back to school, putting the collection on hold.

Out of curiosity, do you plan on getting your hands on a tuba? :P

gosh since my last post on this thread i have become quite the barbie connesuier. my collection is growing and my shelf space is shrinking! :wail:
i never thought i would get that into barbies, but i blinked and suddenly they're everywhere and i spend more time in the barbie section of target than the pony section.

I have all my Barbies in storage boxes (Barbie and her sisters 90s in one box, Barbie friends 90s in one box, Stacie and Skippers friends along with my AA version of Stacie 90s in another box) the modern ones are in a separate box with all the accessories.
I'm a serious Harry Potter collector! I especially love the old stuff, pre-2003 and before the films got popular and changed Harry's and many others' designs. The "vintage" Enesco branded stuff is my favourite <3
I collect so much stuff! I generally have 1-2 major collections, and an unlimited number of minor ones going at any given time. Ponies have been a major collection for a solid 20+ years, and the secondary major collection has shifted a bit from time to time. The rest of my collections tend to be active in spurts, some more frequent than others.^This describes me pretty well, too. A lot of my collections I don't actively add to (unless I see something I want inexpensive in a thrift store -- not unlikely since most are old toys). In addition to ponies (of course!) I have almost all of my childhood collections of toys (like G1 Littlest Pet Shops, Grand Champions, and Beanie Babies) and some collections that I add to more actively (Tokidoki Unicornos and Little Pretties come to mind)!
I like to joke that I collect collections:p
I don't really actively collect anything besides mlp anymore (are dream beauties included here?). But! I am looking for some replacements for childhood favorites that went missing- the horses from Princess Guinevere and the Jewel Riders, some of the Fantasy Fillies, a few of the origional littlest pet shop sets, a few Breyers (like the halloween ones), and there are certainly some polly pocket and starcastle sets that I would snap up if I came across them!
Oh and I also recently saw that thread about Grand Champions.... I will definitely be collecting the microminis if I can get my hands on them :frolic:

I just googled that and oh my goodness, NOSTALGIA. I remember having a miniature hogwarts castle which had tiny figurines of the different characters... I had quite a bit of fun playing with that.
Breyers are so pretty and I have quite a large collection that was gifted to me/ bought in antique shops but you are right, it's just not so fun to collect something which is so expensive and fragile!

I actually have the set you’re referring to! It needs some work to get the motor running again and it’s missing couple pieces (including Snape, which breaks my heart) but I love it! They also made 6 other sets, five of which I have. They made the Burrow, Hagrid’s Hut, the quidditch pitch, the Whomping Willow, the forbidden corridor, and the hogwarts express. I have all of them but the corridor!
Does "collecting cat hair in the corners of my apartment" count?
I sort of collect kirins and "lucky kitties" on a small scale.
I also have a collection of second hand Transformers, mostly non-bayverse for preference.
And for some reason people keep giving me keychains/keytags. I have an accidental collection of those too.
