it's weird how she doesn't have glitter where her symbol and eyes are. Does that mean its surface glitter? Should I buy one and find out?
-
EEEEeeeeeee :cheer:
-
GLITTERY PONY OMG GIMME GIMME!
...I kinda like glitter. *cough*.
-
Gosh this is my 10th *ME WANTS* post in a few days lol

I'm pretty sure it's surface glitter, just like they did with those glitter blind bag ponies.
She's cute, but I won't be getting her considering I'm trying to not collect duplicates :)
-
I'm not usually a fan of the glitter ponies, but I want that Pinkie Pie! I hope they make a Rainbow Dash in that style too.
-
I'd prefer her either with glitter inside the plastic or no glitter at all.
-

That's what I was thinking. She's really pretty though, so I may change my mind when they get released @_@

Thirded. It seems lazy

:yikes: Oh no not a Blind Bag look! I love the idea they what to go with transparent glittery ponies but come on Hasbro! Why on the outside! You made transparent w/glitter ponies in the past with the glitter in the plastic before :(
I do not understand why they'd do the ponies like this

I'd get her and remove the glitter... even for customizing reasons XD
-
OMG, that is one sparkly Pinkie! If they release her I'll have to buy her :D
-
Ooo. Another one. Now there only needs to be Twilight and RD for the set to be complete.
-
Definitely getting two of each, think I'll keep one as is then remove the glitter from the other set.
-
What a cutie, but I admit, the glitter-less areas look strange!
-
Wants...glittery ponies are needed in my life.

Agreed. External glitter = don't want!!
I liked the previous gens where the glitter was inside the plastic. This just looks tacky. The plastic is see-through anyways, so why not put it inside like they used to? Cheap.
At first I was glad they were doing something different again, but now, seeing how they're going about it, I'm thoroughly unimpressed. :(
-
Oh Hasbro... this has become the theme of your company... Cool idea, terrible execution...
"We'll finally release a boy mold.... with fuzzy troll hair!"
"We'll make a fan favorite character from the show... but just paint her shades over the regular eye depressions!"
"We'll make transparent glittery ponies... but only put glitter on the outside!"
-
SHINY. :drunk:
But.. external glitter? Really? :c I don't want to pick her up and have her glitter splooshing (couldn't think of a better word) all over my hands, and the floor, and her army comrades.. :yikes: Nevertheless she's beautiful, but I'd love for her to not have it on the surface.
-
DO WANT!
I need her
Why can't Hasbro quickly release things???
-
This reminds me of those G3.5 glitter fakies! Hasbro copying a fakie company.... too funny!
-
O.M.G. Cannot wait to get my hands on her!
-
I don't think internal glitter would work since they are slightly cloudy. That said I think the glitter should cover the cutie mark like the flocking on the G1 so soft ponies and be sealed so the glitter doesn't shed. It isn't like the glitter would make it so you can't see the cutie mark. Can you imagine if Hasbro had left a patch without flocking where the symbols were?
-
Shiny and sparkly...win and win for me!
Right Taobao thats 4 of them spotted now...now we just need to see the box set! [hopefully]
-
You know I wonder if these will having turning heads, since there doesn't appear to be an internal mechanism. Probably not. Personally I've never had any problem with any of the bb glitter getting on anything. The worst thing about it is they feel kinda scratchy.
-
Oooh! I love glitter! The only thing that would make her 20% cooler is if she lit up!
-

Thats a perfect description of their "texture" lol :)
-
I want her but I don't like surface glitter. It looks weird having an empty space around the symbol and eyes. I hope they go with glitter in the plastic.
-
Wow, pretty!
-
I quickly posted that late last night before I went to bed. New ponies like that disappear quickly.
Since it's just a prototype right now, who knows what it will look like when it's released. I'm excited to see final results. If released as a set of the mane six, it's one I actually want! Not the same ones over and over and over again! :D
-
nice so looks like we are getting all the maine 6 as translucent ponies

That's a good point!
-
These look so much worse with the glitter on to me. :(
-
I love glittery ponies, but she looks strange with the lack of glitter around her eye!
-
o__o I cannot wait for this whole set to come out. I am way excited to see what AJ will look like.
-
ohohoh ME LIKEY!
Even though it's taobao....
-

I think AJ is pictured in the thread about the transparent Rarity...

Oh I missed that. omg. must find. (Thanks lol)

that's exactly what I thought! You have to wonder if they dip them in glitter when they come out of the molds. ...
-
GWAASAAH!
I am so excited for this set! I will buy all six!
I'm going to experiment with pinkie pie, see if a little modge podge swirled around inside with some glitter will make her extra glittery!
AJ and rarity are in this threadhttp://mlparena.com/mlp/index.php/topic,299400.0.html (http://mlparena.com/mlp/index.php/topic,299400.0.html)

They must have tons of glitter paint they just cover everything with. Really hoping the final releases have glitter mixed into the plastic, because that stuff just gets everywhere. I'm sure moms aren't too happy when their kids get it everywhere too.
-

They still could have added a correct amount of glitter into the plastic and it not be cloudy, they did it for the baby ponies in the G1 series without a problem. The G4s will get cloudy anyway with age but at least the glitter would still be see-able. Even G2s, who would have had problems too, had a translucent pony with 'confetti' in her plastic without a problem.
-
Wow. That's a lot of glitter.
I'm undecided. I like the concept, not so much the execution so far - I still prefer the g1 glitter ponies or the g3 divine shine types with the glitter mixed into the plastic. This strikes me as kinda lazy. But I may change my mind once I see them. :)
-
I know the blind bag sparklies have the external gltter that comes off, but I can't imagine that they would release the regular size toys like that--they're targetd to the preschool set, are they not? (correct me if I'm wrong). and kids put stuff in their mouths, so.... ? Just wondering out loud about that. no matter how they do the glitter, these will make me buy the mane six again. I heart :glitter: :glitter: :glitter: :glitter: and translucence.

:good: SPARKLYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my gosh, want.. curl the hair.. watch the sparkle..*-*

I really don't want to be too negative here, but honestly...why can't Hasbro do the quality of a sparkle pinky pie like they did in the sparkle ponies from the 80's or the G3 ones? Its like they are trying to cut corners here by just putting this on the outside of a pony. Playwear will surely destroy this very quickly. I am disappointed in this line. I just don't understand why the quality isn't there. Is it money for them? Are they cutting back to save money? I wish I could be positive, but if that glitter is on the outside only and just glued on..blaaaaaa sorry...I am happy for those of you that are impressed. I just wish we could get quality back in our toys. For kids the glitter is going to get on their fingers and then they will put their hands on their eyes and it will get in their eyes. Not really a good idea for a kids toy. When I was teaching they wouldn't even let us use glitter with the kids because of the danger for age 5 and under. Not so much eating it, but the eyes can be seriously scratched. I super love glittery things and would have adored this had it been in the plastic. Lets hope they do that. Sorry don't be offended by my post...its just my opinion and I am totally pleased for all those that want this. I want higher quality toys to be produced. The price paid doesn't reflect the quality in my opinion ... with G4.
-
I really don't think it is any cheaper to put the glitter on the outside but it might have something to do with it being cloudier than the old sparkle ponies. Maybe the person who came up with these was one of those people who thinks it looks odd if you can see the mane roots and tail plug. Or maybe they tried to make the plastic glittery but felt it wasn't shiny enough so added more on the outside. Whatever it was I think it was more a design reason (if it is a good one is up for debate) and not just Hasbro trying to be cheap.
-
I'm sure if they do decide to put glitter on the outside, the pony will be sealed in some way... Otherwise, as several people have mentioned, it would be a serious hazard. Toy companies are much too careful with that sort of thing these days. One kid with glitter in his/her eye and they'd have to recall the whole line!
-
it could also be that it is just the prototype to see how it looks. Surely at the very least the glitter will go on the symbol on the finished product. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll put the glitter inside the finished product.

Did you get it xeevee? Should I just PM you links if I find them? ;)

I kind of doubt it unfortunately =/ that's the way the blind bags are made, the glitter goes around their symbols and eyes.

Nah, I can never decide if I want to buy things like this when they're just going to show in shops. But yeah, links would be awesome!
-
Heh! that's kind of neat actually. I'd make christmas tree ornaments from them X__X
-
This looks like a larger version of the Pinkie Pie blind bag. I don't mind the glitter being outside the pony. The spots around her eye and cutie mark are really noticeable. It's really distracting. I'm worried about the quality of this line. Some ponies may appear in stores with large spots without glitter.
-
I wonder if all these translucent glittery ones come in a set together.
-
The good news about the glitter is that it's not on the eyes/cutie mark, so it should be easier to remove without damaging the paint.
-

Truer words never spoken.
As recently as G3 they made ponies with glitter in the plastic and now it's just smeared around the outside, where it gives the pony a weird texture and is going to flake off during play. That's just not a good idea for a kid's toy. Plus it looks really odd that she has glitter everywhere except a ring around her cutie mark and a ring around her eye. Kind of makes it look like she has a black eye or something.
And I've got to say . . . if Hasbro can slather glitter-glue ALL OVER a pony's body, why can't they slap a symbol (oops, "cutie mark") on both sides of the ponies? :what: Obviously their machinery has "access" to both sides of the pony, and all that glue and glitter is surely more expensive than a tiny little bit of paint to make a second cutie mark.
-
If these are Crystal Empire ponies, I'm in serious trouble. I already walk past the pony aisle at least twice a day at work! D: I will buy them all, no doubt.
-
I do love Pinkie but that glitter looks like it would get everywhere.
-
She looks pretty! Although judging by the lack of glitter around the eyes and cutie mark, I'm guessing it's surface. I was really hoping it would be inside the plastic, but still cool!
