Dalek pony for Tilas
« on: March 23, 2013, 07:45:55 PM »
Tilas put dalek on her list of favourite things from Doctor Who, so I had to try my hand at making one. This pony gave me no end of trouble. It was my first time working with one of these little guys, so there was that learning curve to deal with. Plus the sculpy didn't mix properly, so nothing dried. I ended up having to rescuplt everything about three times. Then all the "eggs" broke off when I was putting the head back on, so I had to figure out where they went and glue them on. I never did find where one went. It was left over after I put the rest on, but I couldn't find a place for it. So I said "screw it" and moved on.

In the end, I'm glad it's done and that it looks kind of like how I wanted it to.

That's actually a pretty creative take, going from pony to dalek!  I would not have thought of doing the front legs like that.  What led to the white ears, may I ask?

And this is your first time doing this kind of customization?  Nicely done!

Learning curves... so grateful for the lessons they teach... so many teeth worn down from grinding during the teaching!  Still, I think you came out on the winning edge on this one!

The white ears are the little nob-light things on a dalek's head. I had wanted to put actual lights in them, but the head was too small for the ones I had.

Very nice solution!
