really bad day... Please show me your boys

every time I decide to have a day off form work something happens. today it was about as bad as you can get,

one of the hunt horses just dropped dead whilst on a hack this morning. I was just getting ready to do some revision for my horse box theory test when I get a phone call from the girl who had taken him out. She was so scared up on the moor on her own. (much against the advise given at the start of her employment of not gong up there unless she was in a group of three or more) but that aside he was been his normal self then just went down.  She had rung me first and and I eventually worked out were she was and managed to get someone out to her. it was odvious that the horse was dead and she was the priority.

I live about half an hour away but the "men" from estate were brilliant and as soon as I made the call to get her  they jumped to it.  so I know that they will most likely never read this but thank you    Andrew, peter, Chris and David for looking after Teera and Monty so well.

with luck his owner was not in china or london until this afternoon so he managed to say goodbye properly and not just get a phone call from me.  I know that it is just a horse but he was really well loved and had been on the estate for 15 +years so was part of the furniture. And with in seconds of word getting to them his owner, his son, the owners brother, farther mothers o (I am sorry I cannot give name family involved) and all of the main estate staff were out of a "really improtant finacnial business meeting" to help us with him.

I am just glad that he was not out on a hunt when it happened as it was a special childrens open day yesterday and he was ment to go on that as field master but needed reshoeing so we had to use tris the masters second horse. But he was in one of his favourate places and working so I know that he would have been happy.

sorry kinda a long rant......

Please can you show me your male ponies from all generations as monty's life spanned all of them I think it would be a nice way of helping me to remember him..... oh and please can you all send as many hugs as possible to my assistant hunt groom Teera as I think she needs them right now she was so scared on the phone.   

 

Sorry one last  bit if anyone adds baby boy ponies can they dedicate them to Louise who knows who she is and comes on here from time to time  (but is not a member) who has taken everything really bad and I thank god she had refused teeras invite of going out on the ride with her.

We have had horses too for ages.......it is always hard to loose one - they become not just horses but friends and "family"

Thanks guys today has been so long it is unbelievable. but a small ray of light one of my old mares might be coming back as a temp replacement. she is totally amazing you touch her with a brush and she crumples to the floor because she is so ticklish.

I am sorry to hear about your horse. I wonder if he has a heart attack? Horses can be just fine then the next minute they are gone   I only have one boy G1 pony.

yes that is what it looks like either that or a blood clot in his brain. the Vet wanted a post Morton doing  but as he was 19 his owner saw no point in doing so.

That is awesome! How funny that she is ticklish all over-
