Italian hair questions (mainly applejack)
« on: August 23, 2013, 07:30:38 AM »
I was cleaning my ponies (still cleaning, there is no end to it) for my sales list and noticed that one of my applejacks has a different colour of tail. And then checked my tradebox and there was the other one with the same thing. I always thought she had just gotten a replacement tail but it turns out she didn't. (or it would be a huuuge cooincidence that these ponies had the same problem)

The tail feels different and is bound to be frizzier. I tried to take a comparisation picture
Anyone have an explanation for this?

And then wanted to share the odd discoloured hair of seashell as well.

(and now off to clean again, I get so easily distracted  :penguin: *ooh shiney*)

Two versions of shy pose applejack were release. One had straight hair and the other had curly hair. The curly haired version is much more prone to getting frizzy.

Poor Seashell's hair does look a funny colour. Have you looked inside to see what colour her roots are.

I have a related question: were there curly and straight versions of Italy Lickety Split as well?

I know there were two It applejack versions, but this is JUST the tail that is different. It truly is a different type of colour from the mane. A comparisation picture between the curly /straight haired one would be great. And maybe the curly next to curly bow tie? Or does their hair vary too?

As for seashell, no haven't opened her up but there are some hairs that are still green, not yellowed.

:) I am on my PC now rather than the Ipad and the colours do look different. Are they all straight hair applejacks?

There are comparison pictures in the nirvana gallery, but since it isn't working :( here is a link to MLP wiki where it shows both versions of AJ

http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/G1_Applejack

You can also see them here on KKV's wonderful facebook page :) you can see both versions of regular shy pose bowtie as well (curly and straight)

Seashell's hair is a proper khaki colour!

I took another picture of her with her weird colour, spread out on a white background, you can see it's unevenly coloured. Will upload it soon

It must be some sort of fading that has happened to seashell's hair. What is odd is that her body is not discoloured too.

I'm thinking that the differences in the applejacks could be down different batches of hair being used.

Yes and yes :p I always thought she had a replacement tail but it would be odd if I find two with the same thing going on. Any other italian ladies have an applejack they could check? I'm rather curious

No I haven't, I would have to try to loosen the neck seal, hrm. Might try that

It sounds like the necks are still factory sealed :) so it seems like the tails are original.
