Reading the description, the seller put new paint on her.  If you look at the pictures, she's totally all painted, body and symbols!  Custom 100%

 How can anyone confirm that this is a Columbian pony? Rare? It really does look like a custom... Perhaps this person has a bad case of false advertising going.  I hope nobody got scammed out of a decent amount of money for what could have been a painted (and not very well) no country Sundance....

i asked because there are these painted prototype ponies, i think the last i have seen were the schooltime ponies somebody posted here.
and in the drscription he writes that its painted BUT that he got her how she is. he doesnt say that he had painted her himself.

@skyrocketneko - that explaines everything! o_0

Sorry Zora, I'm just jumping to conclusions... it very well may be something real, but the prototypes tend to have higher quality and sharper paint marks on them.  Don't the larger Columbians also have the country on a foot?

It was very clear to me that it was re-painted when I read the description. I don't think that it's fair to call a seller dishonest just because her english isn't perfect :( Besides, most of the other colombian ponies on ebay right now are from the same seller and none of those are repainted!

No, adult Colombian ponies do not have a country mark on their feet, unless you count the handful of collector pose Colombians marked "Italy". The majority of shy pose & collector pose Colombians are "no country" ponies.

it was clear to too that it is painted but by whom? could be made by a prototype guy at hasbros too :)

but as sykrocketneko said: it would have been painted with higher quality :)

There was one other colombian bowtie that had paint on it, except it was part of the body color. I don't think the symbols or eyes were painted. I think it was one of ShelleBelles ponies she had for sale sometime ago.

That price is still very good if it was a repaint, I have seen worse go for the same or even more. I did almost place a bid on this gal. Glad I didn't cause at first I didn't really read the discrption. She did stick out for me as her eyes and symbols didn't look colombian, makes since now.

NC sundance is a very good point! :bigups: and it is right to be wary.

the only thing that says to me the pony is a colombian body is the way the head and neck join, the lines on her body which are not brush marks and also the hair :)

Since the description says the body was repaired and he got it like that,  I would hazard a guess that he didn't do it himself, but was knows who/where it was done. A bit like the old Argentina "Repaired  the hair." My first thought isn't prototype on this one, and it could be a Colombian or something like an NC Sundance... I think the only way to tell would be to remove some of the paint!

At least the seller was up front about the paint :bigups:
