Have these girls had haircuts? (Pic Heavy)

I'm going to deflock them but I need to determine if I also need to rehair them. I'm confident that the tails are ok, but the manes look a little short, especially Crumpet's. But in some pictures that I've seen, Crumpet and Taffy appear to have shorter manes. All opinions appreciated.


Also if different angles or photos would help, let me know. I'm far from a pro photographer.

No they look normal to me. If the mane goes to like mid neck to other jawline, they are about right for them. The hair is just bouncy.  I hope this helps! Crumpet is soo soo gorgeous!

Can't help you with Crumpet (still looking for one for my collection, alas) but my Taffy's mane is three and a quarter inches ( 8.5cm ) long except for the first five plugs, which are just slightly over two inches ( 5.25 cm ).

I don't own Taffy but I do own Crumpet and the mane on yours seems slightly trimmed to me?

Yes, Crumpet has had a trim....Taffy is a tough one her hair is short in comparison to other ponies...it depends whether in your picture that the bottom of her hair is showing or if its curling under itself in towards her...if thats the bottom of her hair yes I would say a small trim, if there is another couple of cms curled under then mayne not

Yes, I pulled out a tape measurer and measured, that's exactly what I have on Taffy. Hathorcat, her mane is curled under toward her in the one pic, it was hard to get it straight and take the pic at the same time

So I think at this point that Crumpet has had a mane trim (her forelock is also short, don't think the pics got that), and by the time she is done deflocking it won't hurt to rehair her mane. For anyone getting fainty at the thought of altering a Crumpet, the pics don't do justice to how grubby her flocking is. I bought her with the intention of deflocking her. Also she has those "pink highlighter" marks on her chest and belly, I don't know what the Jasco and Acetone can do with those.

I've found that I actually like rehairing (when it's going smoothly ). It's therapeutic.

It's hard to tell, but it looks like Crumpet would be a good candidate for a deflock actually. I can see her ears are bare, and it looks like her flocking is very thin around parts of her body

Yeah, I couldn't get a really good photo of it but in places it is mostly gone already. About the only place she has any concentrated flocking left is over her butt and symbols. Maybe that's why it looks nice, because it's uniformly thinned.

Yes, that's a good way of putting it. I bought her from another member who had upgraded and isn't really into deflocking and restoring so she sold her to me because I was looking for one to deflock.

Personally I wouldn't rehair either of them. They both still look great, even if they do have minor trims! =)
