Here's my Luna with some moody lighting;

I put a lot of work into this shot of Rarity, treated post on it like I treat post for doing portraits of people. Took care of stray hairs, got rid of any blemishes on her body, and all that fun stuff. Here's the before;

And after post;

I haven't done much pony photography lately, none in the past couple months. Work and hockey have been sapping all my free time.

Hey, I also have a pink fedora!

Ain't that swell? Though mine's not a 'novelty hat', per se, it's from Montecarlo Hat Co., who make cheap 'cowboy' hats. They made a pink one. I saw it and thought 'oh my god I am never going to find a pink straw fedora ever again', so I bought it. I don't have a lot of outfits that go with a pink fedora, so I don't wear it much.

And that's water, not a giant bottle of vodka.

But a hat brush will do! Err, well, a soft bristled brush. They do make hat brushes, though! I had typed up how to do it but it didn't make sense to anyone but me, so here's a video; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnvorDVgkUQ

If it's super dusty, you could do what I do with my hats that I'm sure milliners will frown upon. I peel off the sticky papers from a lint roller, and dab it on the hat till it's dust free, then I'll give it a brushy brushy.

If they don't have it set up to reject offers under X dollars, they're inviting low ball offers.

I haven't bought anything since around October of last year, everything has been re-releases, no incentive.

Yeah I keep my paypal account at 0. When you make a purchase it will ask where you want to deduct the funds from.

The paypal fees are pretty nominal, you're losing like fifty cents here and there. You can make a fuss over it or accept the convenience it offers for losing fifty cents on a hundred dollar transaction.

From what I've gathered the accepted colloquialism for Danzig is blues metal.

I currently have a boring job working full time in a hotel while my business recuperates from being a money sieve to being self sustaining.

I listen to a lot of eastern European folk music and gypsy jazz. So, yeah, I get a lot of 'wut?' when I link people to what I listen to. I'm also into bluegrass, and a lot of people find banjos offensive. I listen to a bit of Americana, but I'm really particular about it.

Fishtank Ensemble, gypsy jazz leaning more toward gypsy music than jazz; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20vrph2wd2g
Caravan of Thieves, gypsy jazz leaning more toward jazz than gypsy music; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qTinxGGpA0
Luminescent Orchestrii, traditional Romanian folk based out of New York; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vo-_XM6Epj4
Csokolom, Hungarian folk; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rai8TvMag1I
Reverend Glasseye, macabre Americana; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52EMfcZa5dYd
The Dirt Daubers, bluegrass, Americana, and a bit of early rock; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GG7j9A2jA8
Le Chat Lunatique, they bill themselves as 'filthy mangy jazz'; http://youtu.be/KX5THfw6Eoo?t=59s
Los Colorados is a Ukrainian folk band who was all 'You know what we should do? Covers of American pop music!', here's their cover of Hot & Cold; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oyfC8skSuE

I listen to rock, but not much. Mostly jazzy things and downtempo electronica, which is itself a derivative of jazz. Gypsy jazz was born from jazz, and gypsy jazz was influenced by eastern European folk music. Jazz is the root of what I listen to.

The last time moderator apps were being taken they required 1,000 posts and at least a year of membership.

I'd have thrown my name into the hat, but I don't post a lot, I mostly read, so I'm not quite at 1,000. I enjoy this community and would like to contribute more than the occasional post, but I've yet to reach that illustrious 1,000 post mark.

I'm surprised no one's said Five Guys Burgers n' Fries yet. They're a bit expensive, but if there's one near you, go there. Get a large fry (you do not understand how they do fries, order a large fry and you will understand), and a totally awesome burger. With a soda it will set you back $13, but, totally worth it.

If you're into aerospace, the National Air & Space Museum in Washington D.C. is a good place to be, and while it's not in a place you'll be stopping, the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, Ohio (it'd be a stop between Philadelphia and Indianapolis) is really nice, too.

Sometimes I'm in the mood to have someone or something else choose what I listen to, so I'll listen to a lot of online radio. I subscribe to JazzRadio.com, listen to a lot of minimalist ambient stations, and tune into Soma FM a lot.

Three principals of photography, ISO, exposure, and aperture.

Exposure refers to how long the shutter's open, longer exposure, the brighter the image, but if your exposure is too slow, you could end up with some motion blur. 1/60th of a second is about as slow as you can comfortably get for shooting things that will be moving, unless you're shooting something fast like sports.

Aperture refers to how wide the opening is at the 'iris' of the lens. A lower aperture will let more light in, but you'll have a smaller depth of field. Depth of field refers to how wide the margin of focus is. A high aperture will let less light in and you'll get a wider depth of field, but you could end up with a much longer exposure.

The last thing is ISO, ISO refers to how light sensitive the film or digital sensor is. The more light sensitive it is, the brighter the image. However, more light sensitivity is accomplished by loss of fidelity, since a high ISO, something like 6400 will have fewer light sensitive elements to allow a shorter exposure. This can be easily defeated with a bit of post production.

You camera will have a setting called 'Av', which is 'Aperture Priority Mode', it adjusts the exposure based on the aperture. Set the program dial to Av, set the aperture as low as it will go (there will be a dial in front of the shutter release that will raise or lower the aperture while it's in Av), set the ISO to 3200,  (I don't know how to change this on a T2i, you'll have to figure that out) dial in the focus manually if it's too dark for the autofocus to get a bead on what you're trying to shoot, and release the shutter.

I finally booted up Torchlight II. I'm enjoying it, still trying to get a grip on it. Not sure what the end game is like, or how to spec my characters for online play. Going through it right now, trying to figure out what works best and how that'd factor in to playing with a group.

Vagabond Opera is going to be a couple hours away at some point in time, February? I don't remember, all I know is that I'm going. They're a gypsy jazz band with a duo of opera vocalists, though they sings more than just opera. They're pretty swell. Look 'em up on Spotify. I'm also going to see Della Mae on February 10th, they're a bluegrass act with a lot of Americana influence, they're pretty new but they're doing really well for themselves.

I don't really like going to big shows, I do a lot of concert photography, so smaller venues are really great for that. I'm also into bluegrass, jazz, and gypsy folk, so the odds of me going to a big show are pretty slim. I don't really like distorted guitars or loud music, I don't listen to music that makes you want to 'turn it up', which seems to be the type of music that permeates the popular charts. It's not that I particularly like quiet music, gypsy jazz isn't dulcet, but it's not an assault of noise, either.
