Happy New Month, everyone!Sorry I have been away from this topic, it has been a NIGHTMARE couple of weeks for us - long story short, my kid got sent home after complaining (crying and writhing) from itching - trigger = unknown. Small rash on her neck spread to most of her body (bar her back and tummy!) and her poor little face - dark red bags under her eyes and ruddy cheeks. We know of no allergies, but (5 doctor visits later) the various diagnoses include: an allergy / then virus / then eczema ?!?!2 different anti histamines, 3 days of scary steroids then finally a 5 day course of antibiotics + steroid cream and the rash/itch has begun to subside - but any exercise or getting hot makes her prickle-up and itch. This morning we got a referral letter to see a dermo consultant - 12 month waiting list on the overstretched NHS - or within a week if we go private (yay for hubby's company giving us family medical insurance!). So, have been spending my days re-laundering everything in non-bio, giving her daily water-only tepid baths, smothering her in creams and battling with yucky medicines. Then my nights up all hours tending to her when she awakes itching. I am soooooo tired. Husband has lost weight due to worry whereas I think I have gained it from eating convenience foods (too busy to cook properly). Sheesh. Hoping to get an allergy test done to see what (if any) allergy has suddenly developed. Have asked other parents if their kids have had the same thing happen - nothing apart from a scarlet fever outbreak locally. Anyway, once she is better and we have an idea what is going on, I'll get back on track (and have a good sleep too, haha!)
