World Book Day dress-up was rescheduled for today at school (due to school closures last week after the UK snow storms).

Loved seeing the kids dressed up as Oompa-Loompas etc.

Mine went as The Last Mrs Bluebeard, bloodied-dress, key and all  :devious:

...a bit macabre for a 5-year-old, I know, but grisly fun  :coffee:

(left the bloodied skirt in her bag so as not to scare the kids and told the teacher first, just in case!)

Finally, some progress on my thesis section :) I've spent so much of this term studying Modern Japan for my teaching I've had hardly any brain time for my actual work. Writing today reminded me of how much cooler what I study is compared to what I teach xD <---biased :D

I tried to recreate a dish I had at a restaurant a couple of months ago and it went beyond my expectations! So pleased with myself. :)

I managed to draw 2 really pretty landscapes. So pretty, I just looked at them and felt happy. It never happened to me before.

The weather cooled off today and it was cloudy and breezy. I have to enjoy it while it lasts before it gets hot.

My Panzer Dragoon book arrived! I can't read a word of Japanese but there's so much concept art and so many screenshots in there, it reminded me of just how completely amazed I was by that game during my childhood. It hasn't aged well but it's still beautiful to me! :D

I helped someone I didn't really know to get away from a toxic relationship and depression so she thanked me by drawing an artwork of my ponysona. I am speechless.
(Her name is @Hemastral on Twitter and DeviantArt, she takes commissions.  (Yup, I'm never done helping someone out. =D ))
Spoiler
(I added the background, just a space pic) The real artwork was a huge canvas, I put it everywhere I could (Avatar, wallpaper,...) I can't get enough of this beauty and kindness.

We went to a book warehouse sale - first time we've heard about it. Basically they open up their warehouse with leftover stock, you get a box (18" x 10") and fill it (still has to close) for $35! It was neat. Next year we're thinking to plan ahead and go on the first day.

Also, just ordered a set of Harry Potter/Ravenclaw robes as my (early) birthday gift. :) We found hubby's by chance last week, unexpectedly, so he insisted on ordering mine early too. both our birthday aren't until May.

My younger brother surprised me by showing up at work yesterday evening just before closing. He lives an hour and a half away so I don't see him very often. He crambed my bike into the trunk of his car, drove me home and spent the evening with me, and cleaned my kitchen . He didn't leave until past 11 pm. I was so tired afterwards but so happy to see him .
