Going to Vienna
« on: November 11, 2015, 07:12:11 PM »
I'm so crazily excited!  Ever since "Before Sunrise" I have wanted to go there, but when I still lived in Europe, we always spent the holidays somewhere at a beach, and never had funds to take a lot of city trips. But now, finally, I was able to convince my mom to go with me next month! I could use miles to pay for some of the ticket cost, and it wasn't expensive at all.
We will be staying for 4 days, and it's also the 1st time that my mom and I do something alone, without my dad. It will be awesome, I'm sure.
I always imagined Vienna to be really romantic, and before Christmas it must be even more so due to all the Christmas markets and such. Now I am working on a schedule of what to see and do.
Can't wait to see the gorgeous horses. And anything Sisi.

Has anyone been? Is anyone living there? Tips? Please share!  ^.^ ^.^

I've never been, but if I ever do go, I'm definitely visiting the Spanish riding stable with the Lipizzaners.

My hubby has been.  He really liked it.  His favourite things to do was the opera, and to have coffee at the coffee houses.  Apparently drinking coffee in Vienna is an event.  He also said that the subway system in Vienna is the best he has used (and he's been to lots of places as you know), so don't be afraid to use it to get around.

We have already bought a ticket for bus/ subway, that should be no problem! And coffee houses, of course! And eating lots of Sacher cake ....

Oh my God, Vienna is one of the most beautiful places! The coffee houses are definitely worth a visit (or more than one, because the cakes are just as excellent as the coffee; I think I ate my weight in Linzer Torte on my trip  ). Two other tips are a trip to the Austrian National Library because it is mindblowingly beautiful, and a Fiaker ride <3
