Curious: how did you choose your user name?

Its a play on my childhood nickname When I met my best friend we were discussing our unusual names and that led to nicknames. When I explained that my mum used to call me princess, he looked at me and snorted before he said "more like Princess Of Darkness"
Name stuck and I go by it everywhere these days

I've had this username since I joined DeviantART in 04 and it's stuck. Essentially the breakdown is: my name means light and I like stars, I like wolves/dogs and the z just looked cool.

Mine was chosen based on my favorite G3 pony. However, it spurred my other internet alias I use everywhere else- DazzleKitty. I am thinking about asking a mod to change my username.

My name came from when one of my friends pretty much forced me into getting a second Neopets account. We just named things around the room and took the name that wasn't already taken. She set the account up for me as I didn't have the Internet for some reason (think our computer broke?) and she thought fire extinguisher was spelt with a q. But the name kinda stuck =P it's never taken already, so it's useful!

Also last time I answered a post like this on a different forum, someone pointed out that it's like I've vanquished the fire as opposed to merely extinguishing it =P

BarBGirl was the first email address I ever had...my mother created an AOL account for me on hers, and she picked it because of my Barbie habit, lol.  After that ridiculous song came out, just "BarBGirl" was always taken when registering for things online, so I added the "1999" on the end.  It's the year I graduated high school ^_^

Anyway, I picked Mohawk because that's how I cut my hair in 2011 (and still do). I've been cutting my own hair for over a decade and gone through a variety of different styles, and when I did the hawk for the first time, I finally started to understand why so many people get attached to their hairstyles. It just feels right, like I'd found a missing piece of my identity somehow.

Plus, I've always liked user names that were just a single dictionary word, without numbers or weird spellings, but don't get the opportunity to do that very often. Mohawk wasn't taken yet.

Buttersketch is a play on Butterscotch, my first ever pony. I've gone by Butterscotch for years, even though I wasn't part of the MLP fandom until around a year ago. When I joined here, I figured Butterscotch would be taken, and since I like to draw, I changed scotch to sketch.

Crumpet because she's one of my favorite ponies, and then my favorite Disney movie of all time is the Great Mouse Detective and the character Olivia tells the dog to "have a crumpet", and 452 is my internet handle I always stick to, it was randomly added to my aol name in the 90's because the name I wanted was taken.
