I love how you draw them! They remind me a lot of g2s.

Customs / Restoring Princess Pony Cutie Marks
« on: September 15, 2021, 09:05:22 AM »
Hi all, I've thought about how one would go about restoring a Princess Pony's cutie mark when the silver begins to chip, and I haven't really seen any talk about what one would do. What do you guys think of "silver" leaf? Do you think pasting that onto the cutie mark would be a good fix? What tips have you all tried when restoring a Princess Pony? Would love to hear what you all think. 😊

With toys being non-essential items during corona AND all the crazy heat waves (That put out the power in the USA, Europe and also China) it's not a super big surprise that the TE gets delayed.
They're a more complicated pony (more complex than anything they did yet) with extra steps so any delay or problem would affect them more than others too.
I'm not shocked but it's still a little disappointing...BUT they're still coming!
It's just a delay!
Spring of 2022 will get here eventually and I will be lining up to grab them. Also, maybe this could help them line up more retailers or something? Did we ever find out where they were planning to sell them now that Target did whatever?

Meh. My boyfriend collects Transformers and they're absolutely popping off. Always a new toy coming out, and they're definitely more complex than TE ponies. I wish Hasbro would put as much care into marketing and selling the g1 ponies as they put into Transformers. I guess MLP just isn't as popular as Transformers.

Pony Corral / Re: Basic Fun Ponies - Have New Waves Released?

I checked a Target in Ohio and haven't found any, much to my disappointment :c. I thought they might be on the Target website but I did not find any, and oddly enough I noticed that their online selection of retro ponies was very limited- I wonder why that is?

pretty self explanatory question, I have some tempera paint and was wondering if anyone has tried painting a pony's body with that kind of paint

Customs / Re: How to glue things to ponies?
« on: September 30, 2019, 09:29:33 AM »
For small things like that, especially the glitter, any kind of craft tacky glue should work fine. I use Aleene's Tacky Glue.

Bigger, heavier things you need something like E6000 or Loctite.

Don't use Super Glue for foil back rhinestones or glitter because it will dissolve them/the foil.

What about gorilla glue? Would that work for rhinestones, glitter, etc?

Customs / How to glue things to ponies?

Hello again. I have some things that I'd like to glue to my customs (rhinestones, specks of glitter,  small beads) and I was wondering what type of glue I should use. Thanks!

Customs / How do you recolor your customs?
« on: September 25, 2019, 09:43:47 AM »
Hey guys. I recently acquired some g3 ponies that I want to customize. I've never done customs before, but as an art student I figured it couldn't be too difficult. However, I've been having some trouble. I was painting her with acrylic paint, as it's what I had on hand, but I realized it was kind of streaky and you could see the brush strokes, which I didn't like. I also tried to blend a gradient down her legs, but it was really difficult to create a clean blend with the acrylic paint. So, this got me wondering, how do you guys paint your customs? Do you do it by hand with acrylic paint, do you spray paint them, dye them, or something else? And if you have any other advice for a beginner, I'd love to hear it. Thanks!

Just looking to discuss some thoughts about this. Firstly, are the remakes worth anything, or do you think they will be worth anything in the future? And to go off of that, would the remakes ever be worth as much as the vintage ponies, or do you think the vintage ponies will always be worth more? Of course there are obvious differences between the ponies, but if you had to choose between either getting a remake of a pony you want, or just getting an older one, what would you choose? I'm just trying to grasp what the overall opinion on this stuff is. I guess I feel like buying the newer remakes is less authentic than buying a vintage one. Do you agree? Do you think someone's collection is less valuable if it consists mostly of remakes?

Pony Corral / How do I expand my collection?
« on: August 13, 2019, 11:40:07 AM »
Hi, I'm an 18 year old about to move into college. After stumbling upon a 35th anniversary pony in Target, it sparked my love for My Little Pony again. I absolutely love G1s. I previously started collecting them when I was 14, but I had lost interest and stopped. Now, I want to start expanding my collection again. However, I don't really know how. More specifically, I'm not sure how to choose which ponies to buy. Ideally, I would collect one of each type of G1 pony (and g2s, but those aren't my priority), but that's not really plausible. Where should I start? How do you decide which ponies to buy? Not only that, but how do you decide how often to buy them? I only have so much money, and I need to save most of my money for surviving college. How often should I indulge in collecting these beautiful babies? Please help!
