Pony Corral / Best/Favourite Pony Finds?
« on: September 12, 2022, 08:18:28 AM »
As the title said, I'm curious as to some of your best or favourite pony finds! Did you find something you were really hunting for in a charity shop? Or did someone by chance gift you a pony you didn't already have? I want to hear about it!

I think mine probably was the Thundercloud I got for £10 close to a decade ago now. There was also the Sweet Notes that a friend gifted me - they were clearing out their house and stumbled upon a bunch of G1s, and in return for me helping them ID and price them, they gifted me the only one I didn't have! She still had gorgeous crimped hair as well <3

Echoing the sitting pose... I just think it's so sweet! I had bubbles as a kid and I loved her so much, I was a little miffed when I found out the only other pony I had an actual chance of getting in that pose was seashell.

And the Tex pose/shy brother pose... that's another one that I think is really cute. But perhaps that's just part of my want for more boy ponies!

I went to a coffee shop today to read! My housemate works there so I get free drinks. Ice tea and a good book was a really good way to spend my afternoon! I think tomorrow I will get more information about my MA and how to sign up to my classes which I'm very excited about!

She's on the list, eventually... I'm not super crazy about her design but I have a September birthday so eventually I want to pick her up.

I got accepted onto my MA recently, but the real reason I'm excited is because I was looking at modules today and there is a digital histories module - a programming module seeking to combine interests in computer science and history to work on databases and such!! Which are my two biggest interests. I'm really hoping I can get a place on it (not that I expect it will be super oversubscribed) - I've done programming as a hobby so to get some proper teaching would be AWESOME!

Pony Corral / Re: G5 Media News, movie is now out on Netflix!

I only recently had a free moment to sit and watch the film... Not sure when the spoiler-free time ends, so I've popped my thoughts under a spoiler!

Spoiler
I quite enjoyed it, actually. More than I was expecting to. A lot of the main crew do seem to feel a little like re-hashes of the mane 6 from G4, but I think they have enough that keeps them their own characters. Which is interesting, because although I'd say that Izzy is eerily similar to Pinkie Pie (who always irritated me), I really like her. There's a lot of charm there, she's EASILY my favourite. The songs are pretty good, too - the one that Sprout sings (the mob song) is astoundingly catchy.

The ending did feel a little rushed, but I did enjoy how silly and farcical the villain was. Honestly, I don't have too many complaints with the film. I had low expectations that it certainly exceeded - and I quite enjoyed the hour and a half that I sat down in bed to watch it!

OH, and I love that there are main male characters. Hitch is adorable.

Oh, god, this is a fun question!

I played Violin all through secondary school; I picked it up again before I left for university, but it ended up getting stuck at my parents house, so I don't have a violin anymore. Which is a shame, I did really enjoy it!

I also self-taught Bass guitar. I still have that, and before the pandemic hit I was in a band society at university, and performed a few times, which was fun - I hope to get back into it soon! Currently I'm not in the same home as my bass, so I'm having to wait (not very) patiently lol

As part of Music GCSE I did keyboard/piano as my coursework.

I also can play a couple of songs on Guitar/Ukelele, I know passably how to use drums and a harmonica. I would really love to actually learn drums, Guitar, Ukelele - and maybe banjo.

I love music!!

Don't have her, but I would like her someday. As time has passed I've found myself fonder and fonder of the TE ponies

OOFT!!! Sunburst's hair shade is HTF. I don't know if it was used on any other Pony

XD The answer I feared - I spent an hour earlier looking at G1s with the same shade but I could not for the life of me tell if it was my screen or if he's just got a fancy colour!! Poor lad might have to remain tailless for the foreseeable future

That being said, I do still love the idea of a tail donation thread  :P

Customs / Donor pony tails?
« on: February 25, 2021, 06:13:35 AM »
What do you do with the pony tails you take from custom bait? Is there a system of matching up sad, tailless ponies with new tails?

I have a very sad looking sunburst but I have no idea where to go about procuring a tail for him! I'd rather use original hair, if possible; does anyone know of a red pony I could use that has the same shade?

Big apologies if this is the wrong place! I wasn't sure whether here or the corral was the right place

I'm very on the fence about this all - I love the hooves and the orange, but I wish they looked a little bit more like horses  ^^; I'm not here for uber super realism or anything, but a screenshot of her face and only her face, you could tell me that was a stylistic animated cat and I'd believe you  She is cute tho! I'll be very interested to see what the toys end up looking like

« on: February 24, 2021, 08:10:54 AM »
Raw tomatoes seems to be a popular one, and one I echo. I cannot STAND how slimy they are - the random seeds - blech. I do really enjoy tomato flavoured things though.

Pork, also. I cannot stand the taste, or the texture, or anything, about pork. I have eaten it out of politeness [someone once cooked me Ribs and forgot I didn't like pork, so I didn't remind them until afterwards. That was a painful meal but I was too awkward to say no ]

My biggest Thing in food that I hate is random crunches - it is enough to make me entirely lose my appetite. I'll try anything, and there are few flavours I have issues with, but if there is a crunch or a 'bit' in the food I am not expecting... that's me put off of the food for a Very long time.

I had the funko figure and the funko pop figure of him, but not any more. He's one of my favourites, if only for the fact that I really like Doctor Who, so I would love to be able to pick up all the releases of him again some time in the future. So... want!
