So. When Picture Day dolls came out, I was surprised to find I liked Cleo a lot less in person, and Draculaura a lot. I spent about two months hunting for a Draculaura with good enough eyes AND hair for me, and was thrilled when I finally did! Then I got her home, and deboxed, and found out that her hair was NOT so perfect, and her odangos, which I loved, were causing bald spots. So I took them down, planning to restyle them with some extra plugs maybe? And even down, she has bald spots. She was just thinly haired. And it buugs me. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginMy initial plan was to add more black hair in, but her hair's so dark already that I'm not sure I want to now, after sitting on the idea for a few months. There's no real pink match, but I could either dye some white hair pink (I matched the color on another doll, but dumped the dye and will need to make more), or I can just add a third color. Or, I can just rip it all out and give her new hair entirely. What do you folks think? More black, add pink, a third, new color (and if so, what?), or just rehair her completely (and again color suggestions are awesome!). So. I feel slow now, but while texting my friend about finding tooons of Scaris girls but no Deuces, I finally figured out why his name is Deuce. Because snake eyes. Haha.
I feel slow, because I'm not only from Vegas, I've been running a deadlands campaign and it deals a lot with dice and gambling hands.
Anyone else have a suddenly "Oh, that's why" moment with any of the pun names?

Alright! So, since there was a lot of interest, I going to start selling tights for Monster High dolls. To being with, I am going to open up with 5 make to order slots, and up to three place holders if I need. Once I have a better idea of what people are interested in/which tights are most popular, I will start posting pairs for sale here as is. I am currently making several styles, which are listed below, with several different patterns. If you want a color/material/pattern I don't have, feel free to ask! I will look for it, and worst case will tell you I can't find it; best case I have a new color! I am working off of actual tights/trouser socks, and some stretchy cloths from Joannes. More details under the pattern choices. After a commission is placed, I will work to complete the tights and then send pictures of the finished order before asking for payment, which will be through paypal. If you don't have paypal, pm me and we can try and figure something else. After I get my monies, I will ship things out. My current plan is to use regular envelopes and stamps to ship, to keep costs low. If you need a bubble mailer, or delivery confirmation let me know, and we'll work that into the price. Pricing! All tights, except for Knee Highs are $2 a pair. Knee Highs, which are much simpler and easier, are only $1. Currently, I am limiting each commission to just 6 pairs, so I can't overwhelm myself. So, I got the new swimline Draculaura, and adore her. She's so bright, and adorable- I decided she needs to be a pinup girl. So I looked into getting tights for her, and $5, plus $3 shipping just seemed high- I can get myself some fishnets for that price. I made her a pair of thigh high tights friday, and yesterday I found amaaazing fabric for fishnets, and am going to try a pair out after work. Anyways, I'm curious- would anyone be interested in buying tights for dolls from me? I figure I can offer them at around $2 a pair, $2.50 for the first for any paypal fees/cost of a stamp (because tights don't need a bubble mailer). I figure i can make knee high trouser socks, thigh highs, and I've got a pattern for full tights/leggings. I am very proud of this pony, because she was an interesting and somewhat complex creature to make. Alright, so for the Time Travel Swap my partner was Okami_Amaterasu, who has an intricate persona to say the least. I picked Ming Dynasty for her destination, and went from there. Her outfit is made up of four different pieces, the sleeves, underskirt, overdress, and belt. They're a bit strange taken apart, but look right put together and are easily removed this way. It was fun puzzling it all out, and not making it just look like a kimono. Her headpiece is made with a number of beads, a button, and a toothpick. I had to make it twice, because my devil kittens snapped the toothpick on the first one. Her body I am overall proud of, though the swirls on her legs gave me soo much trouble. I spent about 6 hours total on the painting and details, and the red on her forehead stained the plastic a bit- I could not get it off for the life of me, but it's not too noticeable. Her hair is five different shades of white because I love lots of colors, even if they're just different shades. Finally, after nothing this year, I am graduated and making ponies again! So, this is the pony I made for Tinker for the Monstrous Persona Swap. She had on her list both gargoyles, and lovecraftian horrors, and immediately had an idea to combine the two, and here is the result, which I am both proud of and amused by. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginShe is a sandstone gargoyle, who has come to life via cthulian magics. Her tentacles are made with apoxie sculpt, as are her horns and tongue. The tongue was added because it's a common feature of older gargoyles, both to make them more grotesque and to help with water drainage for roofs. She was painted a solid pale orange and then had a few more colors mixed in for a stone effect, and sealed with a matte finish. Then her symbol was painted/sculpted on, and her ooze was added. It's a blend of a lot of different greens, browns, and glitter and metallic red to give it juuust a bit more strangeness, and then sealed with gloss liquitex to make it look more wet. I am very proud of how she turned out, and was a bit sad to let her go.

Alright, so I've been having issues about where/how to keep my dolls (I have a lot). For a while, they were chilling on my mom's never used piano, but clumsy boys kept knocking them down. So I moved them onto the also never used table in the same room. Then I started working on a cloak, and need the table for space. I'm thinking of grabbing some shelves to put them on, but having them out if hand's reach for when I want to fiddle with them would frustrate me. How do you guys set up your girls? I'm looking for ideas/inspiration to figure out a place for all of mine. I'm willing to trade him for either an MIB Toralei, BW Frankie which I have on hand, or hunt down Robecca or Venus, which I seem to stumble across this month.

First off: Ahahahhahahaha! I fooound Venus McFlytrap! Two! So I have one to turn into my MH Persona/OC! Which I am excited to do!
On the other hand, I do get that she's hard to find right now, and teeeechnically believe that collecting comes first. So, my question for all you magical people is this: Would anyone want to strangle me for customizing her at this time, and should I put her up for sale/possible trade instead? Because I know, when I saw a customized Abbey back when I couldn't find her at all, I wanted to punch the girl who'd maimed her up.

A disclaimer: This will not be a cute swap! The point of this swap, is to take someone's persona/favorite pony and transform it into a terrifying, horrifying monster- at least as much as you can with a plastic pony. Like last time, I plan to pair people both by the level of scary they want, and the skill they've shown in their previous customs. The levels will be broken down into spooky for customs that only give you the woogies a little, kreepy for ones that are a bit disturbing, and gory for ones with blood and the like. Even if you're only wanting/making a spooky pony, still avoid being cutesy. The swap will have a work time of about 4 months, with two check ins to help me monitor their progress. This is a skill based swap! You will need to have done at least two other ponies, and preferably some sculpting. If you've done work on non-pony mediums, PM me some pictures and we can talk. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! So, I have two weeks! Two weeks until the semester is over and I am a college graduate! Go me! Which also means that I'll have time to customize and work on craft and personal projects again. And what better way to come back in than with the sequel to my Zombie Swap from last year? Now, like that swap, this will be a gruesome swap. Bloody, gorey, possibly mildly disturbing. The difference is that this time, it'll be open to any monsters: werewolves, vampires, swamp things- try the MH character list for ideas, but remove the cuteness. This will also be a persona swap, with a work time of a few months. I plan to just use the rules from the last one, with a few tweaks for the differences in theme and dates, but basically running from June to October. BUT! If you do not have a persona, any Hasbro pony works, or you can toss a few ideas to your partner to work off of. So. Anyone interested? I'm either looking for $20+ shipping, so that I'm reimbursed, or I'll trade her for Cupid or Howleen with diary. Or original Deuce with his sunglasses, since now I want one for my Rochelle...
