Yeah, princess variant hats never have elastic and don't always have glitter (or glitter trimmed ribbons)
That explains one I got with a Starburst yellow tail variant. It's definitely a variant hat, but it has a yellow princess tail ribbon in place of the elastic. I figured her former child owner put it there when the elastic broke, but I didn't realize that there was never any elastic to begin with.
