Rage Haircut Advice: Uncommon G4s What to Do?

I recently got a grab bag of G4s.
They looked super cool at first! Uncommon/early characters were all there and I was excited. However, upon getting into the bag I discovered some obnoxious kid had been running wild with mommy's scissors. But, they didn't buzz them down. They're all that rage-making "hair trim" where its cut JUST enough to be noticeable all the time and not look mint any more.

So what to do in this sort of situation?
Dollyhair doesn't have most of the colors anyway, plus, would they even be worth while to rehair even if they did?
It's not a buzz so it's not like "oh its alt rehair time" or something, most of the hair is still there.

Do you just slap them on feEbay for like 5 bucks each and call it a day?
I don't usually run into this situation, so wanted to put this out there for advice on what anyone thinks is the best plan. I (and everybody here) already probably has these characters so it's not like they were supposed to be keepers.

So it sounds as though that you can't just return them to the seller?


I think Snowcatcher, Honeybuzz and Plumsweet were in a set that is a little bit HTF. I think some people would still like to collect these ponies even though they are flawed, so putting them on ebay at $5 start price is a nice idea because you're giving another collector the chance to own these ponies at a lower price.  Some people would rather own a pony even if it's flawed than not be able to afford it at all (me included although not with G4) and some people really don't mind flaws or 'playwear'.

Maybe it's just the picture, but the only one who looks cut to me is Honeybuzz or whatever her name is.  Even then, she looks cute.  I don't really like the "mane all the way to the ground" trend that started with G3 anyway.

But if you aren't satisfied with them, yeah, definitely sell them and give someone else a shot at them.

I just checked eBay and the cheapest loose Honeybuzz is $35 (without a haircut) and the cheapest Snowcatcher is $13 . . . you will easily be able to sell them for $5 each, or even more.  Seeing as they are worth that much I would definitely suggest not rehairing;  just sell them and make that sweet, sweet money.

Rarity will be worth the least since she gets rereleased so much.  But you could offer her as an "extra" with one of the other ponies to get her out of the house.

I would be interested in the Snowcatcher as my loose one has a chewed back leg (she had an unexpected play date with my puppy a few years back).

Plum sweet is also hard to find & pricey so you still might be able to do ok with her despite the haircut.

People who customize might also be interested in them as they would probably change out the hair anyway.

I don't think it would hurt to put them up here to see if anyone is interested.

I know some people (me included) just embrace the alternate hair. It's not getting any worse! I've got a Honeybuzz my sisters and I decided to cut down when cutting hair off to be more "show accurate" was a trend.

She's not? I thought she came packaged as a bonus pony with someone else. I must be remembering wrong, maybe she was just never at my Target.

Returning them's not possible because it was a yard sale find, just pick up bags of toys and go.
*Oh if this was ebay or something and they tricked me well...they'd be going right back so quickly. But like, with kids stuff being sold off by kids in a sack of other toys there's nothing really to be done/I'm fine with it.

This makes me feel much more confident in just letting them go at ebay and that they'll do well enough to be satisfactory.

Oooo, yard sale finds!  That means you'll probably make a profit, at least--yard sale ponies usually aren't too expensive, right?

They honestly look really good for being play-ponies. As someone who has all her ponies styled and trimmed, I don't see anything wrong with them. Some of my ponies have really short manes; I personally like the variety. But if minty length is important, you can sell them and try again.... Good luck finding another Honeybuzz and Plumsweet though....
