She was one of my childhood ponies. I remember staring at this set in the shops blankly when I was about eight or nine, and thinking Hasbro had lost their mind. I'd seen the characters in the comics and I knew I wanted the purple one, but I didn't realise till I actually saw them how crazy were their symbols. I never found the purple one so I bought the pink one instead. In the UK she's called Wriggle Pocket, instead of Bubblefish, and we call the set "Pocket Friends" ponies.

She's one of the few of my childhood ponies for which I still have the backcard, and I probably have it scanned somewhere. In the US the whole set shares a single story, but in the UK they have their own individual ones still.

My childhood pony :)

I also can't believe how many of these I see with part of the symbol missing. I wasn't exactly gentle on my ponies, they did things like abseiling and road trips and stuff, but my Wriggle Pocket's symbol has never even looked like budging.

OMG I love her too, so nice to see others giving her some love too! :)

Lol I second Taffeta, I wasnt gentle with my ponies either but my Bunny Hops hat never broke off, it didnt even show any signs of that. I wonder what happened to the others who got their symbols broken off :/

Did you know that there are two different versions? One has a pink streak, the other one has a more salmon colored streak, look :

I knew there was a variant to her as well, but hadn't nailed it down. Einhornbaby, what is her origin? I am fascinated by the variations in this set, but I hadn't managed to identify what hers was until now :D

I don't blame you. This whole set is adorable!  Congratulations on your cutie. I like to imagine that Baby Flicker is her daughter.

Taffeta-This time I prefer Bubblefish to Wriggle Pocket.

Clearly my magic wanes if I leave London. *scratches head thoughtfully*

(I think they're both silly names to be honest xD)

That they are Taffeta.

Also does this mean it's time for a new crystal ball? :P

Perhaps. Or maybe it's connected with the seven broken keys on my laptop keyboard. *gasp* maybe my powers are gone forever...
*goes to search for crystal balls on ebay*

I love her and this whole set, too!  :lovey: I don`t had one of them in my childhood herd, but when I was an adult and started collecting, I fell in love with them and now I have all four in my herd. Bubblefishs german name is Goldi.  :)

Einhornbaby, wow, that is new to me! Thank you for that info!

Edited to add a bunch more pictures I took on the way home from work yesterday of Wriggle Pocket.

As usual I like the UK name better!  Thanks so much for sharing it and pics of your childhood Wriggle Pocket, Taffeta.  Is it more of a peach color than mine? Or is that just the photograph lighting?

Thanks for adding pics of your variant, Einhornbaby.

I have Bunnyhop too, twice without bunnies, and one's pocket popped off with zero force while I was getting ready to scrub her....I left it off as she has no charm.  I just don't love Bunnyhop's pose and symbol really so I was totally floored with how much I love Wriggle Pocket....I just got her for the goldfish theme but then she stole my heart.

I want to caption this with something like,

"Today I decided that my stable was too small, and so I vowed to ride off into the sunset to discover brave new lands."

Ah thanks so much for the back-card Taffeta!  Now the name Wriggle Pocket makes a lot more sense....

Haha yes your caption for that last picture is much better than the reality, which is that she was waiting with me for the train to take us home to our very small stable.

What a beautiful Pony! And such gorgeous flowers too!

I'm not totally sold on the pocket gimmick in general, but I love this one since she comes with a fishie!

Stunning pony and love the photo's. Now I am all inspired to take my ponies out into the garden for a photo shoot. Just have to find that darned chord thingy to download all those photos from camera to computer. It has wandered off somewhere.

It's a weird gimmick. But the ponies do sort of grow on you. I still really like the purple one (here in the UK, Singing Pocket) although I admit I really like the ones with the silky hair that generally only show up in the States...

Because my Singing Pocket has the rather unpleasant rough hair European ones sometimes get, I think Wriggle Pocket took over as  my favourite. Or it's just the childhood nostalgia.

I tend to see broken ones on ebay more in the US. Maybe they rammed the fixings home harder in Europe at the same time as shoving really bad hair into their hair holes...food for thought ;) but I don;t think I have ever seen one loose at a sale here over the years who was  broken.

I have both from german sellers, thats for sure. Not sure if they were from any childhood collections or maybe bought somewhere before they were sold to me, so I cant say anything about that :) sorry

Thanks for that much at least. I will keep looking out for them. There are so many variations in this set and I have so far resisted going for broke to get them as for some reason most of the ones with nice hair have wrecked symbols, but I do like the coral and blue look...

Oh she is really nice! I admit I thought that set was a bit strange, but the pocket thingy looks better in your photos. And I just found a Uk Sweet Pocket (I think it's Uk not sure). But I'm not sure about it, how much should it cost ? The seller says it's in good condition but I've already bought some ponies from her that had problems that she didn't state so.... :/

Can't love this pony, has a symbol on only one side.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(They could at least have printed a 2D version of her symbol on the other side.)

Haha that's right, I noticed that:  one side symbol only.

Maybe Hasbro didn't want to put the symbol without the plastic pocket, and skipped the second symbol for that reason, but it would have been great opportunity to put a 2d representation of the charm on the nds.

Also thanks everyone for enjoying my pics and pony.
