okay but what Pokemon would they have

I'm sure I'm not the only one here who likes both MLP and Pokemon, so . . . if the ponies were Pokemon trainers, what Pokemon (either type or specific species) would they have?  And is it ethical for a MLP to have Ponyta or Mudsdale on their team?

I'm gonna start with an easy one:  Firefly.  I picture her with a team of Electric and Flying type Pokemon.  Regardless of their typing, all her Pokemon MUST be able to fly.

Raichu (Alolan; Electric / Psychic); She traveled to the home of the Tropical ponies to catch one, because she wanted a Raichu who could surf through the air alongside her.

Vikavolt  (Bug / Electric) - Firefly once saved a Grubbin that was drowning in mud; she was surprised when it later returned as a Vikavolt, wanting to join her team!

Firefly doesn't actually battle with her Pokemon much, she is more interested in getting ideas for new flying tricks from them or having races with them.

Ohh I love this thread! I have some ideas for a few different teams.

G1 Twilight would be a psychic trainer. I think her team would consist of:
1. Galarian Ponyta or Rapidash
2. Mew
3. Espeon
4. Meowstic
5. Hatterene
6. Kirlia

Sweet Stuff, I think would have a mostly fairy team. Her team would be:
1. Clefairy
2. Togekiss
3. Slurpuff
4. Alcremie
5. Audino
6. Cutiefly

Angel would obviously have a water team. Her Pokémon are:
1. Primarina
2. Seadra
3. Shellos (the blue one)
4. Alomomola
5. Corsola
6. Mudkip

The sunshine ponies meet up with the sea ponies and they all pool their magicarp hoards to evolve one giant Gyarados.

Posey would clearly be into the plant/grass types. Victreebel would be the guardian of her garden, and would periodically eat Cotton Candy for trespassing.

So long as there's a Vileplume or a Rosalia in there too, you can pick the rest as you like

I think if Ash can have Mr Mime and Jynx and other human-looking Pokemon then the ponies could have Ponyta or Mudsdale. 

I think Lickety Split would have some that love treats as much as she does but also some that could help her make her sweet treats.

When I evolved the Alohan Ponyta on Pokemon Go, literally the first thing I said was that he looks like a Dream Beauty! 

Speaking about the Alohan Pokemon, they would totally have team ups with the Tropical Ponies
