I accidentally dropped one of my earbuds in my coffee (which I hadn't finished yet) and now both the earbuds AND the coffee had to be thrown out :yikes:

I mailed a package on Tuesday and checked the tracking. It has traveled about 5 hours away from where I am since Tuesday.    :what: I think I could have driven the package to its destination faster than the shipping company is going to take.

I got a political call at 5:15 this morning. That is too early in the morning on a weekend for that kind of call.

Ugh, had to book a private swimming lesson today for my kid who had to miss a midweek session.

I think I will try to move the lessons to the weekend as having to do them after school is such a struggle (what with being tired) and I can do without the tears !

My sister asked me to make dinner and stupidly I said okay. Since I've been having heart problems, it's hard to do anything. It's only baked spaghetti so it's not difficult but it's still taking its toll on me :(

I got a nasty infection the very same day I learnt my store chain has gone bankrupt. I've been without a voice for a week. Today I had to sign up on the unemployment agency to be eligble for unemployment. Of course the info my union has on me is wrong! I can't even! I want to sit beneath a blanket sipping tea, not sitting infront of computer to correct some stupid typo while waiting to be called back. I can't even talk!

Beldarna, I really hope things pick up for you soon. It sucks about your store :(

So I have been carefully looking after three rescued plants from last year's hanging basket - a Verbena, a bacopa and a nemesia. They're the ones that survived and were growing against the odds when Dad went to compost it last year. And they've all been doing great (despite removing a caterpillar, some aphids and a baby slug from the verbena pot, I am not even kidding...wtf was a caterpillar doing there in November?)

Then this morning I noticed that two of the Verbena's three stems had flopped like they'd wilted. The main stem so far is fine but I'm worried something has got into the roots and is eating it from below (which I can't really investigate without traumatising the plant's roots even more). It's not a lack of water or a surfeit of water, they're not against the hot of the radiator or the cold of the glass and the other two plants seem quite happy (the Nemesia is actually now bigger than it ever was in the basket, go figure).

So I am just hoping that it's not something that's going to take the whole plant, since it's done so well in growing from a tiny shoot in November and up till yesterday it looked absolutely fine.

I get super protective of my rescue plants so I don't like to see it in trouble.

And our Midyear Reviews start tomorrow (we follow the fiscal year so it ends in June).  Commence stress and nausea--not due to reviews at this job but caused by PTSD from a previous employer.  I await the day that this is no longer an issue for me but it has been several years since I left that last job so I'm not sure when that will happen for me.     At least I was able to sign up for a slot tomorrow so I can get it over with.

Thanks Taffeta. The hard part is not knowing. Like, we're still open, we stil have to go to work, but if it's because they think they can rescue us or if it's just temporarly we don't know. I have a schedule for a month ahead of me when I'm better, but we can get a call that we need to close up within the hour. That is tough and I guess the stress of not knowing is one part of me being so sick.

I went through this with my library some years back, while we were all waiting to know about redeployment and such like, and it's hugely stressful, though people don't realise because they think, well, you're still working...

In any case, I hope it all works out for you. Fingers crossed for a takeover of your store.
