The trivial complaints thread

Yesterday I smashed my left pointer finger in between a very heavy part I had just finished welding and the 'jig' (basically like a sort of mold-thing that clamps the parts into the shape it needs to be so you can weld it without worrying about it moving about and becoming crooked) and holy moly did it hurt. No broken skin thankfully, but there are like three blood blisters and it's so swollen around the fingertip's joint that it's turned like a maroon-ish color. I'm fairly certain that nothing's broken underneath all that swelling because I've had broken fingers before, but gosh.

I had to take the day off work today and even though I had a perfectly good reason to I still feel so guilty. Like...I know I couldn't accomplish anything with one hand and I'd have just been a hindrance, but I still feel like I should have gone in anyways. Work ethic will be the death of me >n<;

I went out to eat and the waitress was terrible. She did not keep the drinks refilled and messed up the tickets when she separated the orders. More than one table had to ask another waitress for help because the waitress that was supposed to be working that section disappeared.

I had to chase another wasp out of my room today. My firestick handset got jammed down the side of my bed at the same time. Those handsets are ridiculously sensitive, so I'm chasing the wasp while the iplayer on my TV is merrily rewinding the whole of the episode of the programme I had been watching.

Fun times.

I had to close the window and rely on the fan until it got dark :/

I am zero kill on anything, including insects I'm afraid of, like wasps - because killing them is wrong and also dead bugs freak me out more than live ones...so chasing a confused wasp out of a window that barely opens is not a lot of fun.

I'm getting ready to sell about half my collection (don't worry, I'm not sad about it ) and I've been writing descriptions for each of the ponies. There's about 130. I just finished up, but I got disconnected from the internet somewhere in the time I was writing. I connected again, only to hit save, and find everything I wrote deleted. Now to go write 26 descriptions again...

I made plans to meet up with a friend I haven’t seen in a while today and she just told me she also invited a bunch of her other friends to come along so it would be more “fun”. I don’t know who she invited and she never even asked if I was okay with that. I was looking forward to a nice quiet night where we could catch up but it sounds like that’s not the plan anymore.

Today's my last day as acting store manager. I'm not sad about it, rather the opposite, but tomorrow starts a new week and I have no schedule. I can't write it, only the actual store manager can. I mean, I figure this is my actual work weekend which would make tomorrow my day off, but it would be nice to actually see it and not just assume.

Cycle race through where I live.

Started at 5am.

I decided not to go to the carboot this morning as I had a long day yesterday and if I buy any more stuff I just have to add it to the move pile anyway...so the fact there are no buses running through here isn't a problem.

However...

People standing shouting and cheering the racers on from about 6am on a Sunday morning is a bit much.

I found some books I want on the shelves of the bookstore today but the release date is supposed to be tomorrow. I’m sure someone put them out early by mistake and since I didn’t want to get anyone in trouble I didn’t try to buy them but seeing them on the shelves a day early makes me want them even more especially because one is the next book in a series I’m reading.

This actually makes me smile, but my post is currently the last one in that thread, so I'll just bend my story a little so it becomes a complaint.

Anyway, one store already sells autumn stuff! Yes, I know it's early, but I always go crazy when the autumn decorations hit the stores. Each year I buy way too many toadstools, leaves, trees, foxes, hedgehogs, pumpkins, ghosts and gnomes... My house is basically a forest.

Now I'm 25 euros lighter.
