This is a duck that I got when I was very young (would've been around 2003), which I named Spot. She was definitely my favourite toy, which is why I still have her now, and my family even say I "brought her to life" and gave her a personality! She has a few stains on her from where I was experimenting with fabric paint, but I think she survived my childhood pretty well, especially as she was left behind in the supermarket a few times!
The thing is, she came from a charity shop, and I don't think she had any tags on, and if she had my parents would have taken them off before they gave her to me so we wouldn't still have them. This means she could have originated from anywhere! Has anybody seen her before or knows where she's from? It's something I've been wondering for well...since I've had her really!

I've no idea, but oh gosh she's so cute  Well-loved toys are the absolute best.

No clue but she sure is cute.

Did a quick google for duck soft toy 70s and then 80s - some similar but not quite right.
I then searched for pelican (as the beak does look large) again, a few similar ones but not the same!
Oh well, was worth a try! :)

I do a lot of searching for vintage baby toys and I've never seen this one, but I'll go do a more specific search and see what I can find. But on first glance... it looks like she may be handmade? Is there any hint that she once had a tag?
Edit: I searched for "corduroy duck toy" on Ebay and Google Images and found some similar things, but not the exact same toy. The similar toys mostly seem to be dog toys, so maybe yours was originally intended to be for dogs?
This is the closest thing I found. Sorry I wasn't able to be of more assistance! I wish I could have found her!

I can't see evidence of a tag, but if you look at her closely, you can see she was really well made, so maybe she only had a hanging tag. The stitchings look like they were done on a machine or something which suggests she was mass produced like other toys at some point.. But maybe we'll just never know.
Her stuffing in her head is normal but she has plastic beans lower down her body and her fabric's too soft to be for dogs I think (or at least my auntie's dog would certainly shred her in 5 minutes if he got the chance!)
Thank you for looking anyway, and that dog toy's cute!

Not really sure if they're the same, but I have an old stuffed dog/rabbit that looks like it would be from the same maker. It has similar fabric and the coloring (block colors for each appendage) is very similar.
Mine came from a crane machine my mom won when I was a baby (early 90s). He's a Sugarloaf brand animal.
Again not sure they're the same, but I can definitely see similarities!

I have no clue what she is but she's precious! You can tell she's full of memories

Oh definitely! I remember when I was in primary school we did family trees and I put "Spot [my surname]" as my sister. The teacher found it funny, especially as I'm actually an only child.
Her beak is also all tatty because I had a habit of carrying her around in my mouth by it (Ew, I can reassure you those days are over!)
