I'll be more likely to buy a pony if it has its brush and ribbon. They complete the look to me as hasbro was quite clever in making the color scheme so harmonious back then

I really wish they had released those animal companions and their dolls. They were so cute! I'm looking to replace my riders and maybe Galaxia and Celeste. DragonLady omg I love your collection! Seeing that new outfit on Sparky is super cute! I bet there's methods of making her new glasses if your interested in that! I've sat on these ponies for a while now to see if my opinion of them might improve but to be honest, it feels cheap. For a store release I would have been excited for these. I really like the 80's vibe, but for a SDCC exclusive it feels lazy. Just some accessories on three main six characters. The different eye shape for Dash is neat and so is the crimped hair on Twilight but again, it's just not impressive to me.

I went through my sticky pony boxes today cleaning them and they are all from 2003-2004 (22 ponies in all). These ones did come to me secondhand, so I have no idea how they were treated before I bought them. I have had them airing out for about 48 hours and that seems to have helped for the moment.
I don't know if it helps, but my afflicted ponies are Kimono and PinkiePie, their original releases. I got them, did their hair, and put them on a shelf. They came down with it in the mild climate of upstate New York. I don't knwo what I could have done differently to prevent it to be honest. I think it just happens.

Yeah, I noticed about 4 years ago I have several ponies that are coming down with plastisizer breakdown. It's sad and disappointing but it's unfortunately what plastic toys do.

Oh thats neat! My childhood Barnacle didn't get a symbol stamped on one side of him but that was very different than getting stamped twice!

I remember most strongly in the comics Fiery being brash and very protective of his princess, Pearl. Spiny was kind of clumsy. Smokey was the youngest dragon, so was paired with the wisest Princess, Sapphire. Sparks was always being run ragged by Ruby, who wanted to do everything yesterday. Flash lived in dread of his princess saying 'that's no problem', as it invariably became a problem after that point...and Prickles was the down-to-earth one handling the daydreaming Aquamarine.
Your dragons and their commentary is the cutest thing I've seen in a long long while!

Childhood pony and I think she holds up well over time! I love how the red in her mane makes her colors pop! I wouldn't like her nearly so much if it weren't for how that color ties her theme together! The pony I had as a child was actually my sisters and I ended up gifting the pony to my sisters daughter a few years ago. She loves that pony and seems to really appreciate how long she's been around. She really treats her well. This girl is the one from my personal collection. There's something to be said about hasbros ability to producec a new pony using old molds. Those easy cookie cutter characters are more likely to get a toy release than more unique looking characters like Bulk Biceps of Pipsqueak who would need a new mold casted to produce them.
