So, I have this lovely Nightglider...
« on: January 23, 2012, 01:33:43 PM »
...who I intend to sell. Her symbols and eyes are in perfect condition, and she's just really lovely.
Well, except for her hair cut. @~@
Her mane and tail have been trimmed tremendously, and so I was wondering, would it be worth it to order some dollyhair and fix her up? Or would it hurt her value even more?
Sorry, I'm such a newb at all this.  ^^;

It really depends on you.

 Usually, rehairing a pony will decrease its value, but she is yours and if you plan to keep her, go right ahead!

^this :)

If you do want to still sell her I would leave her as is and let it be up to the buyer if they want to fix the hair or not. If you're going to keep her however, do whatever you'd like! Just be sure to remember she's rehaired in case you do want to sell her at some point.

It's difficult because Nightglider is a more sought-after pony.  If you intend to sell her, I'd sell her as-is.

I personally wouldn't mind a rehaired pony if I knew her original hair was beyond repair. As in, only a centimeter of hair left all over, or a missing tail or something.. But that's just MY personal choice. I do suggest since she's pretty rare to sell her as-is and let the buyer do what they want with the hair issue.

I would offer her as is, but give the buyer the option to have her rehaired (obviously charge for the hair and time). :)

Okay, that's kind of what I was thinking but someone suggested I should rehair her. Thanks for all the advice!  :lovey:

I agree with what everyone else has said here, sell her as is. You can offer the option of rehairing if the buyer wishes for someone else to do it, however in my experience most people wish to leave the pony as is or rehair themself. I would personally only buy her if she was left in as is condition. Good luck selling her :) I know she is quiet saught after so you shouldn't have any troubles finding her a happy new home :)

I would say it depends on how short the hair has been trimmed, but it also depends on the preferences of the collector. Some would rather have the original hair, in whatever condition, and some would rather have it looking nice. If you rehair, make sure to mention it if you sell her to someone.
