Teddy and Barnacle?

Alright in the Masquerade episode Teddy dresses as a pirate for the party. Is this some sort of Barnacle reference? Haha, I never noticed before when I watched it as a child.

I have no idea, it's probably just a coincidence, but that's actually a really cute thing to notice! I didn't even realize Teddy had the same color scheme as Barnacle!

Teddy was one of the three main male ponies from the My Little Pony Tales series

Pony tales was in the early 90s, and I was about six years old. I remember watching it in the morning, more than I remember the older MLP shows. I was just too young when they came out. Let me see if I can find a picture for you here of Teddy in the outfit....oh from what I've seen Pony tales never came out here, but it is on youtube.

Ahhhh that is hilarious! When I was little I used to call Barnacle Teddy because I thought he looked like him I didn't know the ponies already had names! haha ;D What a cute observation! :> Gotta love Teddy

Haha you know I never got it before because I didn't have the Big Brothers, but wife made me buy her Barnacle. I had to stop and rewatch it a few times. I was all "wait...wait. Oh woah!"

This probably. He sure looks like Barnacle but I am thinking a pirate is a reasonably common dress up so its probably coincidence! Cute spot though.

First I wanted to say definitely coincidence, but after seeing the picture... the style of the hat is basically identical (although it's a very stereotypical pirate hat) with the eyepatch on the opposite side, and he is wearing a bandana as well. The people working on the show would have been familiar with the MLP product line, since they had to incorporate the toys into it, but then again the Big Brothers was no longer in production at the time...

So, while likely a coincidence, it's not completely crazy to think some thought might have been put into it.
