Nirvanas for a beginner?
« on: March 27, 2013, 12:25:41 AM »
Hello! :3

I'm curious about Nirvana collecting....and I'm finding myself wanting to give it a try, since there are tons of pretty ones! However, I can't quite afford a 300$ Greek pony

What are some good Nirvanas for a "beginner"? Ones that are pretty widely available and "cheaper" v v

I'd love suggestions (and pictures too, I love pictures :3)

Thank you!

Italians!  usually lots about and less pricey - here are my rainbow girls.  They have painted symbols rather than glitter and always blue eyes.

Italians are a great place to start :) There are some that are very expensive (like blue Lickety Split), but there are a large number that are under $30, and some that are even under $10. If you're not picky about condition, Mexicans can also be good :)

Spanish No Country ponies can also be very affordable. Like these guys I've recently sold for under $15.  :)

I second Italians! I'm new to Nirvanas too, and also quite broke, so I'm working with Italians right now. They're beautiful though, my Tootsie is white with blue hair and she's so much prettier than her original form!

That's what i love about Italians you can start out with cheaper easy to find ponies and if you want to get more serious there's so many gorgeous hybrid CP and other harder to find ponies to chase down.

Like the others have said...Italians are usually a good place to start. Mexican and some Peru, like the basic early ponies that are similar to their HK sisters tend to be cheaper. Some of the No Country ponies like the Daddies/Mommies and Sundance also are cheaper.

Good luck on your Nirvana hunt : )

I'd say get yourself a Macau :) I'm not so keen on the quality of the Italians (dry hair, poorly painted eyes) with a Macau you get the soft to touch feeling and airbrushed eyes <3 Macaus <3

Depends on your standards, I guess. I'm new to Nirvana hunting but my two Italian girls are absolutely stunning, with hair as soft as any other pony and perfect eyes. Maybe that isn't common with Italians, but it's certainly achieveable for relatively reasonable prices .

I'd personally go for Argentinans- Some of them may not be in the best condition and there is a few pricey ones, but they are very distinguishable between their regular releases, and quite a few of them are under the 100 dollar range.

some of the argies do not go for much I have a baby fancy pants one that was under $ 50.00  You may also want to look into some of the dutch ones.
