Best / cheapest way to make shelf risers?

I need to make shelf risers for my G1/G3's, I've seen a few tutorials but a lot of them were kinda old and a little tough for me to follow   So I wanted to see what's the most current method! I've seen risers at Walmart / Bed Bath and Beyond that were intended for spices but I didn't like the gray rubber part. I'd much prefer something white or transparent!

If you have any suggestions let me know!! I really need to buy some / make some soon, I'm running out of space

omg i was just thinking this! i don't have any good tips for making them but i wanted to comment to watch for people who do!! 
I do use spice racks on one of my shelves for my baby G1s and 3s, but the adults are too big!
I've seen some people use cake stands actually as well, like cheaper pastel dollar tree ones? That can give a super cute effect to shelves!!

I bought some transparent plastic ones at Target a week or 2 ago, they were in the front 'Dollar Spot' area of the store. They came in a 2-pack for $5. I put up a post in the Pony Corral section about it with a picture recently if you want to check it out. I'd put the link here, but I don't know how from my phone.

I use a thick, cardboard, parcel box that was the right height for a shelf riser and I cut it into three. The middle section I strengthened with some extra cardboard and that was it. They carry four/five G1 ponies.

Cheapest? Cardboard and hot glue.

Best? If the grey parts of the risers bother you I would just cover them with some paper or fabric.

Only ones I can't display as nicely on the risers are the holiday G3s (some of their outfits make them harder to display on them, especially any with 'socks'). Everything else I've put on them so far has worked great! Have actually picked up a couple of the 4 packs of those risers to use.
