Title: Sparkle Ponies - Making a G3 Ponyville one!
Post by: bladed on February 07, 2012, 12:25:24 PM
I decided to work on this since I just found out that I can't get my original G3s back because my mum can't get in contact with the lady she gave them to.. I know they are being loved though, because she still has them for her granddaughters!
One of my original G3s was sparkle Desert Rose. I loved her to bits and I'd love her back.. so why not make a mini sparkle pony of her?
This is where I need help.. I don't have any glitter and no glue.. There is a choice corner down the road but they only sell glitter glue! Do you think a bit of fine glitter glue would work, or will I have to go to a crafts store and get fine glitter and glue that wont show up too much?
Thanks if you help!

it would help if you could tell us how exactly you're planning to use the glitter :)

glitter glue should be fine then :) i've sealed several parts of some of my customs in glitter glue and it works just fine (but i go over it in mod podge too).
just brush it over wherever like you would with paint. but if you dont wash the brush when you're dont the bristles will stick together and get all hard so be careful of that!
you may want to grab a good brand too instead of any regular old dollar store brand. i use Tulip brand :)

Thats where I run into a problem.. I don't know how much to use.. I have a few old paintbrushes that I could use.. but I don't have anything to seal it with.. I don't exactly play with them so it should be fine.
I'm off to find my glitter glue for the half-term so there is plenty of time (2 whole weeks)
I'm not repainting anything so it should be pretty quick.. any ideas on where to dry her? By a windowsil maybe? Thats were I dry my ponies that have been styled..

Thats where I run into a problem.. I don't know how much to use..
just squeeze a little bit of the glitter glue on a paper plate or something and brush a little bit on at a time

I think Behemoth has the right idea, squeeze a little on a paper plate or something and paint it on :)
