Forgive me: I have another stupid question...

What's the best way to put neck plugs back into G4 heads?  I've done it before but never without stabbing myself in some way.  What method do you use?  Do you boil it or cut at the squared edges to make it more round?  Or are you guys just strong enough to use your hands and not hurt yourselves? o_O

I use a hairdryer to heat the plastic of the head then set the plug on the counter and squish the head down onto it until it squishes in. Sometimes it takes a few tries but it works.

I've widen the neck ring in the head to do it as well as a hairdrier on a low setting, though I've read someone did cut notches there to make it easier too, I'd have to see that one myself

I just got my first G4 turnable head pony done, yay!  I took my knife and cut four slits in her neckring.  The plastic is still firm enough to hold very well and the slots helped the head pop on.  It was great!

I cut notches or slits on the neck ring. It doesn't affect the ability to turn, but does make it easier for the plug to go back in.

I shave just a tiny bit off of the ring inside the head with an exacto, might have to try putting slits in next time!

Not stupid at all. I just warm the plastic and shove the head back onto the plug which I've already glued back into the body. Cutting slits might be easier, but I don't find they give me too much trouble.

If there's sculpting (boy ponies), I can't use the plug at all, because it cracks the Apoxie.

I haven't done a full body repaint yet so I reboiled the bottom of the head and squished it back on.. but I'm going to use the slit and hair dryer from now on.

I have to admit, I frequently stab myself in the process of customizing.   

I guess I just balance the neck plug on the kitchen counter, press the head down, hopefully evenly, and then pray I don't snap the neck plug.
