HELP with Ebay LABEL...quick...
« on: March 14, 2013, 03:05:20 PM »
I am trying to print out my label and its two inches by 3 inches in size.  So I did what they suggested and opened the label window.  That didn't help. Its still printing really tiny.  What do I do to get this label bigger?  I have never had this happen with an ebay label.  Usually the print too large.

I'm on a mac with chrome so I probably won't be much help since I don't know what your print dialogue screen looks like.

Do you have your paper settings at 8.5x11, and at 100% scale? maybe something happened with the scale...

(I sometimes bump it down to 80% when I want it to be smaller)

Or heck, if it's at 100% already, maybe bumping it higher would be a temp fix...

Yes all of that is set right. I am so frustrated I just cancelled the label and I will go to the post office.  This is just ridiculous honestly.  I tried changing the settings and nothing worked.  Its still printing tiny.

What about printing something else out?  from either a browser window or another program (like photoshop or a preview or something).

Wondering if it's the printer settings, or the stupid label app

Cuz :/ It might happen again when you go to print out another label...

Or is all the java stuff up to date? (I say that cuz I recently tried to print something (EMS label) and it went bonkers until I upgraded to the newest whatever)

Everything is printing small.  I have no idea what to do. My settings are on letter. I checked everything but there doesn't seem to be a place to set it to 100% except in my screen settings and that is at 100%.

Hm. I am not sure how helpful I can be since I think the dialog box is different on a mac (I know how to control all sorts of settings with this OS). Maybe someone who has a pc can help. It's probably something silly.

I have an option where I can set the scale of whatever I want to print, so I can manipulate size. (When I need to print a label out for a small box, I can tell it to print 80% of it's original size... and make it smaller.)

http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Networking-and-Wireless/The-printer-prints-the-fonts-too-small-when-I-try-to-print-a/td-p/1543933
? I think that is the dialog box it's under for windows.. (though not sure which version of windows that is or what you have). If you have that, is that set to actual size (or 100%).

Orrr... perhaps, maybe seeing if there is an update to the drivers might help (Worth a shot?).

Well, its got to do with chrome.  When I printed the new label on explorer everything worked fine. I will just not ever use Chrome again when creating labels on ebay.  None of that makes any sense, at least I have a label now.  Sad I had to pay for two labels and won't get paid back for the first one in a month..which basically means I made no money on this item...as it all went to shipping.  I just hate computers sometimes.

I did to update the driver and that was not needed as its up to date.

Oh, yeah, I remember having an issue with using the Chrome print box thing... (I don't recall what it was though).

So I have an option to go to "print using system dialog" and it takes me back to the normal print menu-- rather than the internal strange chrome print menu... And I do that every time now. Maybe you have a similar option?

:/ It's always a bummer for the refund being slow... there were a couple times where my printer decided it didn't want to print (low ink, couldn't override it)... and it's like... sigh.

Thank you so much for responding bandit...that was helpful just shooting ideas around.  It was much better than calling dad as all he did was yell.  He appears to be having some serious moody issues with the chemo.

Thanks Bandit! Sorry I was not around to try and help. It was sleepy time for me when you posted.

Anyways I have had them print that small before and I went ahead and used them. Because at that time I could not figure out why the heck it was happening.  And noone ever said anything to me at the PO but that was awhile ago.  I actually liked them to be honest, they saved on ink usage.  Just telling you that in case it ever happens again so you don't have to go through the trouble of cancelling them.

I am glad you got it figured out though.
