As a small child I used to take the newly laid hen eggs and hide them under my pillow in my bed.  I really really wanted to hatch one.  My mom caught me but I think she was more amused than upset.  She explained that chicken eggs cannot hatch without a rooster.

But maybe they would have turned into tiny little ponies if I had just waited long enough !!

I did the same thing!  Only I took an egg out of the refrigerator and eventually the egg fell under by bed and cracked and dried out and caked onto the carpet making a giant mess.  Don't tell Majesty!
