So I've seen some of the dolls for the Netflix She-Ra show. She Ra looks alright, I have no strong opinions on Glimmer, Catra and Shadow Weaver are cool and Bow looks really weird. I am curious to know if they're making Swiftwind?
What do you guys think of them?

EDIT: On second glance, the lack of a thicker body type makes me sad. :( Glimmer is so cute and curvy in the show... it’s a shame to see her “slimmed down” like this. :P Ah well. I’m still interested in these... Where can I buy/pre-order?

I saw the SDCC ones. Shadow Weaver was a favourite character of mine from original SheRa so although I don't really love the overall animation style for the new SheRa, I was curious to see the doll, since the original line never had one.
I think they've done an amazing job on her but unfortunately it will never be in my geographical or financial range, such is life.
Plus the set comes with SheRa who...not so fussed :) Never been a fan of blond haired blue eyed dolls.
But it looks pretty nice. Kudos to mattel (Assuming it's mattel).
It would help to have pics or links in the thread to know what the others look like...I've seen a few bits and pieces online from searching but am not totally clear.
P.S anything they do with Bow in the new line/series is automatically an improvement on the original, since as a doll, as a character, and as an aesthetic, he was entirely annoying.

Well I saw them on some youtube opinion channel, but haven't been able to find them online. For some reason, only the Con ones are popping up. They're brushable dolls with She-Ra, Bow, Glimmer, Catra and Shadoweaver.

I put in an order for the SDCC set through an Ebay dealer... Hopefully everything goes smoothly, and they’ll arrive after SDCC is done. :)

Catra looks cool! She has character and in the words of Gollum "we wants it". She will look great next to my DCSHG Cheetah :biggrin:
The others look like Ever After High to me and I think Mattel could have done a better job at capturing their personalities. They are all big eyed and sugary. Glimmer looks cute but she is more bada$$ in the show.
The commentary track was horrific but reminded me of the whining in our thread when the show wasn't even out yet. Especially the part about "the real She-Ra" :P

Way too sweet and bland looking was my issue with DC Girl's Poison Ivy doll.
They're doing new ones based on the new design but sadly most of them are not even poseable. I am happy the She-Ra ones all have joints.
I only have one DC Girl and that's Cheetah. Because she has a unique mold and a great expression. Most DCSHGs sadly looked same-face :huh:

They had her as a SDCC exclusive and later as a regular release together with Frost and Hawk Girl. It was over a year ago. She was easily the best doll of the bunch because she had a new smirking face with pointy ears. The doll had a ton of factory flaws but I am glad I scooped her up because she looks very unique.
The SDCC version was very orange and the regular release had her show accurate skin/fur color. I am looking forward to find out how similar the Catra doll might look to her because both are brunette cat girls with tan/orangey skin.

They made Hawk Girl too? I never saw that! (Never saw Starfire in stores either.)

I am amused about Bow's box "contains bow and arrow". Surely it should say "contains Bow and bow and arrow."?

Found them! They are all on Mattel's instagram.
I am disappointed that Swiftie is not a new mold. They used that Barbie horse for Wonder Woman already and his eyes look creepy. Sculpted wings would have also been better. The in-show Swift Wind is very expressive/cartoony, he is not a stock image of an Arabian horse like the original was so I think the Arabian Barbie horse does not work for him. It's strange because Barbie herself had weirdo cartoon horses over the last couple of years but when they need to make a new one they just re-use a realistic looking one.
I imagined a Netflix Swiftie would look more like the Mia & Me toys.
Catra is still cool and I like that She-Ra and Adora are different sizes.

Does Mattel not do international distribution? Perhaps you can get someone to pick up one for you?

People have asked them if they will distribute internationally but I couldn't find any answers. Mattel does another doll line right now that is US exclusive for the time being (Wild Hearts Crew). It drives me nuts.
But it also saves money, lol.
I am still saddened by the lack of Catra. She goes for insane prices on ebay.

When they do ship internationally, Mattel charge a humungous price for it. I've done this before with MH and it cost me less to have it shipped from them to a friend in the US (free US shipping) and then have the friend send it to me via a normal postal method than pay for Mattel to send to me direct. Why my friend could ship to me without bankrupting me and Mattel couldn't is a mystery. I can only think that it's down to them wanting to discourage overseas buyers :/
I have seen Target shipping internationally before on some things but it seems to be about 10% of lines and again, shipping costs ><.
If they're not a store exclusive though, and not just available through Mattel, they'll probably turn up on Amazon eventually??

I don’t understand... Why would Mattel want to discourage ANY buyers? :( It’s all more money for their coffers.
Having ordered internationally many times (as an American), the shipping is ALWAYS monstrous when it comes from a shopping site. Ebay or private sellers charge reasonable rates. Big corporations charge 2-3 times that amount. Umm... what? :shrug:

I think the She'Ra dolls are Target exclusives, so yeah... I tried looking for them on ebay but Catra was the priciest. They aren't even listed on Amazon, afaik.

I saw SOMEONE did on Instagram and Tumblr. I'll go hunting next time I'm at Target. I'm not a big doll person and this semester is brutal cost-wise so I need to cut back on toy spending but Catra might be too much for me to resist.

I found them in Indianapolis on August 3rd on my way home from GenCon. I’ve since found them at my local Targets. So far I have Swiftwind with She-ra, Catra & Glimmer. Swiftwind is a bit disappointing as she has a large piece of plastic on her back to hold a doll & I don’t care for that at all. Also, his wings seem kind of flimsy. I’ve only opened the Swiftwind & she-ra pack so far. I can’t decide if I like the way the Bow doll looks so I haven’t bought him yet.

I think they're popping up more now. I saw Catra in Target, but held off because I already asked for her for Christmas. I also saw some Bows.

I think I saw someone reroot her with gray hair? I might try to do that. I'm not usually a doll person (at least not a Barbie size one) so I can't speak on much else. Her tail is not poseable but can rotate at a joint, and can easily be removed for changing clothes. I haven't tried to change her clothes yet.
