Pony Corral / Favorite song?
« on: September 06, 2020, 07:55:57 PM »
What's everyone's favorite song from G1?
Mine is a toss-up between "How Does My Garden Grow" and "Oh, for a Rainy Day". I love Posey's singing in HDMGG and the soft tone in her voice. As for OFARD, I love that song because rain and overcast days are my favorite! I find myself thinking of the song when I know rain is soon in the forecast!
Let me hear your favorites and why! :frolic:

I'm sorry Lickety Split!
Never really had a strong connection to her, nothing against her personally!

I'm sorry Skyflier! I just don't have a big connection with her, but I've also have never been a big fan of pink (that's the punk in me lol) so the pink colors are just not my cup of tea.

Moondancer!! I love her colors and her calm and collected pose for her figure! The gentle look on her face always gives me a big smile when I see her!
Gusty is a very close second, because I loved her in the original show and her personality. Her colors are also adorable and she just seems really fun! She is one of the ponies on my need list.

Welcome to the community!!

So glad you could join us and I’m sure you’ll find your little niche here on the forum!

I would love to see some of your art, especially the prints! I’m an artist as well but haven’t work with prints since I was in college.
:frolic:

Cheers!

Pony Corral / Re: Are there any positive aspects to appreciate from g4?
« on: September 05, 2020, 07:29:54 PM »
My favorite part of G4 was definitely the animation and story line of the show. G4 was my first real MLP thing that I actively enjoyed, while I grew up with G3 ponies. Was a big fan back in my high school days! Made a lot of friends though it to that I still talk to today!

I can see how there can be some conflict between the gens not getting along, but I cannot understand why! We all love different aspects of the franchise all in different ways and we can all respect one another for it <3 :frolic:

We have a antique store in the area I love going to, I may try that one out tomorrow before I go into work. Thanks everyone for the input and I hope you all have good finds in the future!!

Do the pony collectors here have more luck finding ponies in the wild at thrift shops, garage sales, or flea markets? I'm trying to make a game plan for this weekend when I plan to search all stores and garage sales I can for some G1 ponies! Was just curious where you all have more luck finding some ponies?

Cheers! :frolic:

Pony Corral / Re: Figure, figurine or doll
« on: September 02, 2020, 09:35:17 AM »
I typically call them figures since that's what I use them for (display and restoration). I have many cherub figurines and I call them that because they are smaller/more fragile (since they're made of porcelain). Dolls in my eyes are like Barbies, Bratz, and other toys resembling humans. I have also been calling my MLP figures just "ponies" as when I say that to people in my life, they instantly know what I'm talking about! Suppose it's all up to personal opinion what they're called!  :P

Introductions / New User Introduction!!
« on: August 30, 2020, 09:37:59 PM »
Hello everyone!

My name is Marshie and I'm new to the community! I am a 22 year old from the United States. I recently graduated from college in May of this year (bad timing right? lol) with a degree in broadcasting media! I'm currently a full time employee at a simple $13 an hour job (not media related) just trying to get by.

I only recently started collecting G1 ponies! I got my first G1 pony back in March (Firefly!). I got her for the sole reason of learning how to restore her, as she had a lot of issues with her mane and some marks on her vinyl. Restoring old 80s ponies is just a unique hobby I decided to pick up, and they are just so cute and great for display!! I only have 3 G1 ponies (Firefly, Starshine, and Moondancer) but I am very eager to expand my collection.

Feel free to ask me any questions, pony or not! Look forward to being in this community!
