It must be the season for ducky love!

Last week I found a pair of mallards going for a romantic morning swim in the pool. I think the poor mister got dumped though. He spent the end of the week doing laps by himself.

I did hear some quacking this morning so maybe they made up!

My dad just mowed the lawn behind my mom's back. She told him he could if he didn't get too close to the bush, but he did it anyway. She's gonna be peeved! My dad is stuck in his ways when it comes to the lawn haha. I hope he didn;t scare the mama too bad.

I know spring is officially underway, I saw my first fledgling.  A little robin learning how to fly was sitting on my front step yesterday.  I love how fledglings still have the baby bird fluff in little patches on their head!  I grew up by a lake, so baby ducks are one of the cutest parts of spring!

I used to worry about the birds in the back yard because we have a cat, but I've seen the birds attacking him and it seems they can take care of themselves. He's never caught one and is more likely to run away

adorable. i would love to have a duck have a nest by my bushes. they lives close enough to do so, but i guess they prefer the creek bed.
