Author Topic: UPDATE Order from Arena Member Balthamos Never Received (Read 1888 times)

I placed an order with an balthamos, fellow arena member in the UK 5 weeks ago, I still haven't received it. I looked at their profile and it shows the last time they were active on the arena was 7 minutes after I paid them.

I've tried to contact them via email, PM and DeviantArt with absolutely no response.

I just opened up a paypal case against them.

I also just checked her DeviantArt account again and it shows that she was last online 3 hours ago. I sent her a PM on there 5 days ago, which means she's clearly received it and read it and she's choosing to ignore me.

The paypal case has been escalated to a dispute, which I'm sure she will not respond to.

What saddens me is that I lost out on getting some of those ponies from other members for less or MIB because I thought I already had them coming in.

Balthamos finally responded to me on DA, 2 seperate times, she was quite rude, insists that my order was sent without tracking and that she can't be bothered to provide me the refund, so instead she'll just let the paypal dispute go through and have them refund me at their convenience.

I will never deal with this member again, I feel lied to and betrayed. In one of the messages she says I live in the US, actually I'm in Canada. I don't know if she put the wrong address or not, however my husbands family lives in the UK and whenever they send us something, we have it within 2-3 weeks tops. I really don't believe she ever sent it, she never offered a receipt # or anything, nor did she respond to the paypal case, which to me means she was being dishonest.

The world is full of all kinds of people I guess

Update ****August 20, 2013***

Paypal decided in our favor and issued a full refund to us. She never responded to paypal at all, no copy of receipt, comments etc...

So that's the end of that. Thankful we got our money back, would've been happier still to have received the ponies instead

I really hope things work out as well. I really hate opening cases, but I also don't like being out any money with nothing to show for it either. i really hope this member makes things right.

And you shouldn't be out money for something you paid for. I don't understand people who do things like this. It is just so off my radar of something I would ever consider.

Here's hoping the paypal case comes through.

Thanks for updating the thread with your sellers name.

I believe you did the right thing on escalating the dispute. She really left you with no other choice since you tried every form of communication you had to get ahold of her and she didn't respond. Plus when you opened the case she would have recieved an email from Paypal and a chance to dispute it. And she didn't which leads me to believe she never sent your items.

I am sorry you had to go through this, it's unfortunate their always has to be a few bad eggs in the basket. Please keep us posted!

She's quite active on there, she was just on 20 hrs ago. And I sent her another message on there since I know she's active on there, still no response.

Between her and the recently found out scam artist boss, I'm not too impressed with how things are working out.

However I have the buyer protection so I know I'll get my money back

, you're right it's a dissapointment, but at least I'll get my money back, and hopefully other members will be wary of dealings with her on here or any other website.
