That's a really cute idea! I'd maybe take a clear nylon string instead of the visible one used in the example. Fishing line would be very appropriate!

here was mine over christmas when i had time to (and the star lights) to get them out. the babies are floating in water which i never usually do especially with vintage toys but it was just for a day or 2

the babies are sitting in these little clear plastic things the kids dummies/pacifiers came in, when my kids were babies i spotted them and thought they were perfect so i collected them 

and below pictures is an old display how they use to be a couple of years ago....... so miss them like this and have done a little down sizing since. one day they will be back in that boat bookcase
