Ballet Baby with Odd Legs???
« on: September 02, 2016, 10:06:30 PM »
Hi all!  I tried the search to see if this has been discussed and I didn't see it mentioned.

I just got the last ballet baby to complete my set, Baby Soft Steps.  Oddly her right side legs are longer then her left on the front and back.  I don't mind the oddity but is this normal?  I haven't noticed this on my other 3 ballet babies.

Hmmm, I've always thought mine stood a little funny, but your is WAY off.  I don't remember any of the various ones I've seen over the years being as lop sided as yours.  You'd think that would stand out.  I'll check mine tomorrow and if she's built like yours, I'll let you know.

If I remember correctly those legs can be pulled out. I think someone may have had a little fun...

Yes they can be pulled out and I thought that at first but none of the legs are backwards and on the long side the shorter leg is in the back just like the shorter side. If I switched them she would be have really crazy legs.

My Baby Sweet Steps has uneven legs, although I don't remember if they are as bad as yours.  I can't check right now, since I'm ponyless for a week (housesitting)...

The ballerina baby pose is based on Baby Blossom's pose.  That's the reason some of her limbs are longer than others. :)

I checked and mine's legs are crooked, but not as far off as yours.

I never noticed that on my childhood girl, but she's packed away now.  I'll have to take a look at her next time I have a chance!

I didn't know they were based on baby blossoms pose.  I guess my girl just got extra long limbs though. To stand level I have to pose her more like Posey.

The ballerina ponies' legs aren't positioned for them to necessarily stand flat on straigtened legs like other ponies; they're meant to stand so they're in sort of dancing poses. Is this the unevenness you're seeing, or are they actually wonky, like they've been pulled out of the sockets a bit?

Here are my childhood ballerina babies for comparison, if it helps:

I'll have to look at one. I have the full set but one is MOC, but maybe I can still get a good idea.

I noticed this on one of mine. I thought I got an 'off' one, too!
