I've been away from the arena for awhile.  Could someone catch me up on these releases? What ponies has this company released and who else is slated to be forthcoming? How are they different from the originals in the 80s? One thing that bothered me about a lot of the early sets were the glittery symbols that would suffer glitter loss. Do these have glitter symbols or painted ones? Also I was just Dollar General and saw G1 Mash 'ems or Mashables or something..... I think they were from the same company.

Here's their website, although it doesn't show the newest releases: https://www.basicfun.com/mylittlepony/index.html

They have glitter symbols. I'll let others tell you more about the look and feel, I only have a couple (Bubbles and Seashell) and I haven't opened the boxes.

I'm still hoping this newest set will become available in Finland, I need Gusty! :P

I want Gusty, but I would prefer her in So Soft form so... Hm. Maybe they'll do those? I also hope they'll do the adult Sea Ponies because seriously.
should be perma-moderated

I've rehaired a Skydancer, handled a Tickle but didn't finish rehairing her.
The plastic seems to be thicker and less squishy. The hair is silky and soft, but there is a bit of a gel-ish product on the forelock. This brushes out fairly easily though and the hair seems to be as soft as the rest underneath.
For rehairing purposes, the neck plug is much smaller. I've had to hack away a few chunks in order for my needle to properly get in the pony's head. The tail is anchored with a metal washer and clamp. If I remember correctly, the mane comes out very easily as well and is woven in rather than glued? I could be wrong, been a bit since I handled them.
The Mashems are from the same company! Makes me hope we'll see more retro pony stuff in general from them.

The glitter symbols are coated for protection (it seems). It doesn't affect their look.

The ponies themselves are harder than the originals.

I have a question: did Bridge Direct make all the collector pose ponies? I got a Blossom the other day and noticed it said Bridge Direct and not Basic Fun.

Yes, I was wondering where the Bridge Direct came into it, too - I've never really understood exactly what their involvement in the repros is/was ^^;

I couldn't remember if they just changed their name or it they merged with a different company. The first retro Strawberry Shortcake dolls had Bridge Direct on them.

Reporting from FL: Not yet but I'm gonna catch 'em all!

To Zelda (and also anyone else):
If you want them to do the adult seaponies or for us to finally have 10 dollar Mimic --do everything you can to make BF do well & sell LOADS of every wave. Spread the word for free on tumblr, facebook, pinterest or anywhere that you have to promote them & get other people to buy the ponies. The rarer releases are contingent on them doing good enough with what's here now. I personally, am shipping them overseas to people who couldn't ordinarily just buy them without huge markups & offering deboxing and whatever else that Amazon won't do. ANY extra sale is a GOOD SALE toward Mimic, Mountain Boys or Big Bros or anything else you can think of. If everybody bought 2 (one for you, one for a friend--who is paying you to buy it...) who knows how far they'd go. But the main point is that anyone picking up any of these does make a difference. (Also interacting with them does too----physical letters worked so if you feel like spending a stamp it's worth it)

I checked a Target in Ohio and haven't found any, much to my disappointment :c. I thought they might be on the Target website but I did not find any, and oddly enough I noticed that their online selection of retro ponies was very limited- I wonder why that is?

I checked Target today and someone had bought Surprise, leaving the 2 Sparklers and 2 Gustys.  I think this must be the same set I found last week because Heart Throb is still missing.  The G3 retros were on clearance for $7 at my Target.
